I suppose the easy way to explain file formats is that it's not possible to upgrade but easy to downgrade the quaility and type.  What goes down, can't go back up.

I think you’ve misunderstood me, Yohanes. The issue is not about the acceptability of MP3 as a format but the fact that NewErrolJayLibraryGuy2002 was mistakenly thinking that to “convert” an MP3 to FLAC automatically changes the file from lossy to a lossless format. It doesn’t. Hence the reason why there have been regular posts on this forum about upscaled FLAC files. It isn’t a practice we encourage.
Sorry. I didn't know that. :( :-[

By the way, my friend. I was using Audacity.

Edit: Sorry about the confusion.

No, that's okay. As long as you understand that, as redwave put it so succinctly, once an audio file has been downgraded to a lossy format (MP3) nothing can be done to enhance it to a lossless format. Changing the file extension doesn't change the audio content.

Oh, thanks. And by the way, I got Slam Dunk from Ana Laura except for a Production Elements/Workparts catalog that is not ripped yet.

Edit: Slam Dunk Urban is found.
