Hello, I am desperately trying to locate information about the Egisto Macchi song used in the short Italian documentary FCO Fiumicino directed by Ennio Guarnieri in the late-60s / early-70s. The video is on YouTube at
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ipu6AVnXKM. Unfortunately, the credits only note the composer, not the publisher. I am not sure if it was library music or composed/synchronized for this film. The song seems to be a tango so maybe the word "tango" is in the title, or maybe not. I searched the SIAE database for Egisto Macchi tracks with "tango" in the title, of which there are several. I could only rule out one as the others I can not locate. I attempted to contact all of the publisher contacts but only heard back from one. Sadly, they did not have information about the song. I reached out to several record labels who distributed some of Macchi's music hoping someone might have information, but struck out with every one -- that is some didn't get back to me and others did not know the song. I reached out to his son Lamberto, also a composer, and the only living person left that worked on the film, but I never heard back from them. (I have no idea if the contact information was valid.) A similar song can be heard in Album per Cartoline Postali Illustrate directed by Riccardo Napolitano in 1970. It's possible it was recorded during the same session, or maybe not. Obviously, knowing the title of the song would help immensely but at this point in time, that is a mystery. Does any one have any information about this track? Have you heard it anywhere else? Can anyone steer me in the direction of someone who might know? Thanks!
