Hello Everyone
I am new to library music, and was wondering what the common libraries used by producers of educational/industrial films of the 40s/50s/60s were. These types of films are what got me into this music. Thanks in advance!
The Coronet films used at least two cues from the Harmonic/Brull library, including "Melody in Moccasins." I've been trying to find other Coronet cues with no success.
I'd love to find the cues Sid Davis used for his films in the '50s. I'm pretty sure it's an English library.
As for industrials, both Jerry Fairbanks, John Sutherland and Jam Handy had staff composers for a while. After 1956, you'll hear the Capitol Hi-Q library on a lot of films. Sam Fox and the Langlois Filmusic libraries turn up as well. I sure wish there were more Langlois cues around; several thousand were written for the library.
