Fantastic!  :D

I'm going to have to wait to download, as Pixeldrain seems to be up to its old tricks... downloading about a quarter of a file then coming to a dead stop. Maybe earlier in the morning is better.

Also, here is something useful for anyone interested in this thread, a definitive list of de Wolfe CDs.

Well, de Wolfe have f***ed up spectacularly with DWCD0086, The User's Guide To The Classics Vol.2, with numerous rather famous classical pieces misnamed! For example, Overture Light Cavalry is actually Mozart's Horn Concerto!  ::)

I wouldn't be so quick to point the finger Swingalong. The audition tracks on De Wolfe's website for DWCD 086 are correctly labelled. It's just as possible that the errors crept in when the FLAC tracks were tagged. If you notice the album is also missing a number of tracks when compared to the De Wolfe website so clearly something has gone wrong.

According to the track listing on productionmusic.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_De_Wolfe_Music_CD/digital_albums, a couple of tracks have been delisted, probably as they have been licenced to a particular user. This is a hazard of library music albums being reissued as CDs or digital downloads... because some tracks inevitably end up on adverts, TV programmes, or films, they can no longer be offered on subsequent rereleases... the exception being when a library album becomes so iconic that it gets released commercially.

All files are as I received them from De Wolfe Music. They were completely untagged with titles in ALL CAPS with underscores and composers in the filename. I added tags but tried to be pretty careful to not mix up any titles.

It's just as possible that the errors crept in when the FLAC tracks were tagged.

You can tell by the /34 in the tracklisting that I tagged the album using the Discogs function in Tag & Rename. You can also tell by the total track tally (34 songs) that the number of files is far less (21 files). De Wolfe Music has a rather large number of incomplete albums, due to licensing I'm sure. I can only upload what De Wolfe Music gives me when I click Download. It's possible their licenses are different today, as I downloaded these files in April of 2020. I don't have a working login for De Wolfe Music anymore and haven't for a number of years else I'd attempt to update these incomplete albums. Not sure if anyone noticed, but 086 does have {Incomplete} appended to the folder name, so that should have been your first clue, and I do see at least 8 other incomplete albums and I'm only up to 190.

Up to DWCD 0188 are now online in the Pixeldrain folder

I'm going to have to wait to download, as Pixeldrain seems to be up to its old tricks

I get it already, but Pixeldrain is easy for uploaders so that's what I'm gonna keep using.

As I mentioned before I'm gradually going through your generous share and picking out those albums which are of interest to me. I've just come across DWCD 028 Just Whimsical and found the tags for tracks 2-23 aren't quite right. This isn't criticism I'm just alerting people to the fact. The correct tagging should be:

2   Anthony Hobson - Just Whimsical
3   Anthony Hobson - Day Trip
4   Anthony Hobson - Day Trip
5   Anthony Hobson - Tales Of Toytown
6   Anthony Hobson - Tales Of Toytown
7   Anthony Hobson - Pink Pumpkins
8   Anthony Hobson - Pink Pumpkins
9   Anthony Hobson - Ready, Steady, Stop
10   Anthony Hobson - Ready, Steady, Stop
   11   Anthony Hobson - Toyshop
   12   Anthony Hobson - Toyshop
   13   Anthony Hobson - Basooning
14   Anthony Hobson - Little Red Car
15   Anthony Hobson - Little Red Car
16   Anthony Hobson - Furry Friends
17   Anthony Hobson - Furry Friends
18   Anthony Hobson - Paint Pots
19   Anthony Hobson - Bouncing Bill
   20   Anthony Hobson - Pushbikes
21   Anthony Hobson - Bunter And Friends
   22   Anthony Hobson - Fatso
23   Anthony Hobson - Whistling Kettle

I think you are doing a marvellous job Blackwatchplaid... I assumed the tags were de Wolfe's errors! Sorry if you felt I was criticising.

I didn't notice the word "incomplete" until I was extracting the folder from the rar archive, as long folder names don't always show in full.

Honestly, none of this is a problem, I was just surprised at what I thought was de Wolfe making an error. Some libraries do f*** up from time to time.

Keep up the good work!  :)

I don't know why libraries do that with their titles! Why the underscores?  :o

I'm afraid I've spotted another. The tagging of DWCD 170 This England is slightly out of sync. The track numbers are correct but the track titles/composers follow those given in the Production Music Wiki.

I'd say the problem is with discogs. The order and tags match up with their listing

Quite probably. We know the album is incomplete as you've noted because tracks 1, 4 and 5, all composed by Elgar, have been removed. But that has not been properly reflected in the listing you attached which I presume is a screen grab from Discogs Tagger? Curiously that listing doesn't correspond to the on-line listing on Discogs either (h***s://www.discogs.com/release/22159987-Various-This-England-A-Musical-Journey-Through-Englands-Noble-Heritage) which corresponds to that on the Production Music Wiki. So in this instance and perhaps DWCD 028 which I highlighted above the Discogs Tagger has proven to be inaccurate. Maybe best avoided then?

It's the Discogs lookup function in Tag&Rename. Tag&Rename is what I use and have for nearly 20 years. I don't normally use the discogs tagger with studio downloads, but these files had 0 tags to begin with and I don't have much else to go on besides the underscores and gobbledegook the filenames come as.

Yes it’s always a pain when files come untagged as well as having complex file names that make it well nye impossible to create a tag from them. I’ll keep my eyes out for any other hiccups.
