Music De Wolfe (Lossless)

It appears that mediafire is inspecting the archives uploaded to their service and disabling downloads, offering a link to Amazon in its place. Only a few are affected so far, but I can imagine this spreading like a disease among the other links. If any you're trying to get have been affected, let me know and I'll get it online for you again. In the meantime I may have to redo this collection and others with password-protected files. I really abhor using passwords in archives, it's always a hassle for everyone involved, but if it keeps prying eyes away from the contents of the archives it'll just have to be done. It was a bit of a chore getting them up in the first place so this won't be immediate, but hopefully we can keep these files online one way or another!

De Wolfe are very protective of their copyright, particularly with full albums that they're not able to fingerprint. A short term solution might be to remove them from public view and add a password. It's a pity really with all the work you have put in making the files availalbe.

Multiple refreshing of the link/ dl page might help.

xyz.rar with or without pass and coded dir name might be the best solution, yes.

Hi everyone, I've been into libray music since the 1970s thanks to the BBC test cards, and it's great to find a site devoted to this music, so we can be sure it won't all just disappear into history. Blackwatchplaid has done a marvellous job collecting all these archives and uploading them. It must have taken weeks...

Can I ask a question though... I noticed that some of the DWS/LP 3500 series are in mono, although I know these LPs were issued in stereo. I'm looking for a good stereo lossless copy of DWS/LP 3535 Visual Image, containing uptempo tuneful synth pieces performed by Unit 9, one of my favourite de Wolfe groups.

I do appreciate you pointing this out, the files themselves are 2 channel so I wouldn't have noticed. I do have a different copy of this album, I don't know the source, I got it from soulseek, but it does sound a lot better than the other one

Thanks. A few others were affected, but I can't remember which ones. 3535 was the one I was after.

My first warning is when both channels' waveforms look identical. A quick check with headphones confirms.

OK Blackwatchplaid, thanks anyway. I wonder why de Wolfe are doing that? They used to issue their LPs on deliberately poor pressings because they wanted people to get the music they wanted on tape instead. That way de Wolfe knew who was getting what. Maybe it's an Internet version of the same principle.

The rip of DWS/LP 3543 (Solo Sounds - Volume Three) provided by BlackwatchPlaid, and the same album as it appears on the De Wolfe website, are both missing three tracks: "Land of Hope and Glory", "Lily of Laguna" and "The Music Box No. 3", which should be tracks 9, 11 and 23 respectively. (As it happens, the track numbering on the De Wolfe website misses out 9 and 11, but includes 23, so that the original track 24 has there become track 23, the original track 25 has become track 24, and so forth.)

Does anybody have the complete album please - or even just the three missing tracks?
