Timing - Timing-De Wolfe
I've just realized this series from In Editions is not in our labels database, unless I was to sleepy when searching for it.
That's why I decided to post it here, also because it's an outstanding series, very important in the library field, and a great one to showcase.
Not to be considered a proper label or sub-label, but a series/collection of records by the French publisher "In Editions", 15 Rue d'Astorg, Paris, France.
However, given the impressive line-up of artists involved, being the only library releases from In Editions (as far as I know), and having even a cat # that calls back the name of the series itself, this collection/series has somehow achieved the status of label in its own right, in the collective imaginary. For instance, I choosed to catalog it under [Timing] or [Timing-De Wolfe] in my folders.
More specifically, it is a collection of 16 records which came out between 1975 and 1977, initiated by Jacky Giordano who took care of the first six albums.
The ten others were developed by Pierre Arvay and nearly all published in partnership with Music De Wolfe.
Remarkable and iconic series, in my opinion.
Jacky Giordano, his brother Henri, Yan Tregger, Roger Bourdin, Pierre Devevey, Stephane Grappelli, Francis Personne, and then Pierre Arvay, D.J. White, Allan Feanch...
Also, an immediately recognizable graphics and designs, with those solid colours and fonts.
Graphics and design conceived (at least for the first six numbers) by Pierre Okley (real name Pierre Gilardeau), a very famous Fench illustrator and designer, who collaborated also with Barclay, Philips and Vogue records.
Probably best known for his pin-up drawings and his productions for Moulin Rouge, The Lido and The Folies Bergère.
Here below you can see a patchwork of images from the first 6 numbers, a patchwork with the typical design of most of the other ten numbers when Music De Wolfe joined In Editions for the publication, and an enlarged detail of Okley's signature.
And last but not least, you'll find what I've been able to collect till today (7 FLACs and 9 MP3).
It would be great if someone could provide some upgrades to lossless, especially from the first 6 numbers (the best, in my opinion).
