You can’t script it do I had to hope it’d say something half decent! Worked out alright I reckon.

Ah, interesting. I had thought that it was speaking your script. So, yes, it came out better than I would have expected. Though I noticed that it changed from an English to American accent towards the end. I presume you did it in two separate takes.

No it was live- I’m holding the gadget to a mic while the first track plays.  I wanted a sort of HAL 2000 from 2001 and asked for an English accent but with no regional accent but it does go American here and there!

I did think about doing a couple of videos where I pull three-five records from the shelves completely randomly and go through them, talk about anything interesting etc but when I experimented the records were pretty crap and it put me off.  I might pick the idea up again and maybe tweak it.  I like the idea of hearing things I’ve missed or neglected before.

Make a selection before, don't pick them randomly, it's a VERY good idea, I'd love to see that.

So many goodies: Night Patrol, Strange Night, Marine Fauna

And great to hear them in sequence, thank you, Retro

… and what are these two framed prints above the decks, may I ask?

Very cool Retro, it came out good, being without a previous script.
To be picky, one might say that a deeper voice would have been more attractive, maybe.

I was inspired by watching 'Black Magic' (1975) and 'Black Magic 2' (1976), from the Shaw Bros Studio, both with some nice library music from Bosworth and Major/Valentino respectively.  It got me in the mood to dust off the decks and pick some similar veined records, creating more thematic than the usual pot pourri you get from me on a Saturday afternoon.  More laid back than jarring horror but less melodic than usual, I hope you enjoy it.

01 - Scary Bridge - Frances Trocaine

06 - In the Space - Janko Nilovic
07 - Electric Blues - Johnny Hawksworth
08 - Pop-In-Jay - King Palmer

10 - Disorientation - Paul Lewis
11 - Wailing Wail - Nicolas Flagello

Thank you, I think, Retro! 😂 My first reaction was "thank goodness, back to the normality of the Weekend Set". But this is anything but normal - even for you!! As usual you're pushing the musical boundaries. Great stuff!

;D  It was my perfect chance to get 'Dr. With-Wot' into a set!  I absolutely loved the films and the second one opens with 'Wailing Wail' (albeit slowed down) so I was hooked on the idea of doing one based around the films(-ish)

I never paid attention to 'Disorientation' or 'Vertigo' by Paul Lewis before but they are used throughout the first film and it made me love them both (I have hummed them for about three weeks).

I have got another themed one planned and then will likely go back to the random formula.  Next one will likely be a 6TS Dance Party with all my favourite 100 miles per hour soul stompers- many already played but want to play them in one set.
