To celebrate the 10th day of the calendar I post my favorite of the Arcal library. It's a fantastic electronic album by Ricky Starbuster, who still seems to compose and record some film music. This album contains intimate spontaneous jams, playful experiments and catchy hits. I couldn't close my mouth when I first heard this one. I wish it gets a proper reissue some day! It's a bit different to the rest of the Arcals, that are more like mixed bags of this and that (they are mostly great though, you'll hear later!). Sal Viola is the producer of I think all of the Arcal albums. Barry Bisson is the most active composer. The label has some similar private press midnight jam vibe as Harley Tobermann's Production EFX Library. Ricky Starbuster has been active in Discogs, and it appears that he has some interesting tapes recorded in the 80's. Also he's clearly angry at the label never giving him any money. The label does seem a bit shady. Maybe someone has some more information?

As a bonus I post a wonderful AOR album on the label, that also has a strong private press vibe. Not sure if this is a library record at all, I suggest it's not. No idea if the label has any other non-libraries out there. Barry Bisson is the composer of most of the songs on this album, and sings, plays keyboard, acoustic guitar and saxophone.

Something that doesn't get mentioned too much here is that LMT offers free courses in the Production Library curriculum.

Any student here can glean vast amounts of knowledge here from any number of visiting professors offering their famous Flying Short Courses in such things as Library History, Theory of Labels, Composer Aliases, etc. All lessons free of charge.

I'd also like to thank our Head Librarian (no pun intended), Mister, and his amazing body of work in theMLDB.
