Doesn't look like Library music to me. If you look at the tracklists, it's just compilations of popular tracks like Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye etc.

im willing to bet foreground music isnt originals and ive never heard of muzak licenesing the og tracks.. i still think this might be something special! but def could be wrong!

I'll second what Keoma wrote here, these seem like compilations of regular pop music for in-store usage.
There's only one way to find out for sure, though!

Muzak isn't really library music, which was never released on cassette.
They were massive back in the day, though - there are probably hundreds of these.

Muzak repositioned themselves a good few years ago and began licensing original artists to get away from the old easy listening 'elevator music' image - fat lot of good it did them, as they no longer exist, and are part of the mighty Mood Media empire these days.

Some tracks recorded for Muzak actually ended up in the Mozart Edition library (anything by Earl Sheldon or Jane Jarvis is from there).

Looking at these, it says right on the tape card inserts that these are just commercial hits compilation tapes. Not easy listening instrumental arrangements. So these must have been from the late era that Lord Thames was talking about. They look like they were issued in the late 80's.
