I assumed it was original.  It’s memorable though and I think if I’d heard that in a library LP it would have rung a bell. Is the disco tune from Angels of Death with the killer secretaries similar?  Gotta watch that episode again!

It appears to have been specially composed by Laurie Johnson - it's included on the New Avengers soundtrack CD, though the master tape is missing so it's taken from the music and effects track with party sound effects just audible on the top.
