Recently on July 11th of 2025, Raymond Guiot passed away. He did some work for a few labels, including most notably Telemusic (Some pieces from Telemusic were licensed to Audio BMP). Rest in peace.

Oh no, that's a shame - anyone who watched BBC schools programmes in the 70s and 80s will have this permanently imprinted in their brain

I just learned that occasional MP 2000 producer and Janko Nilovic/Jean-Pierre Decerf collaborator Guy Szakolczay, better known as "Marc Saclays" left us in 2023. RIP.

Klaus Doldinger passed away October 16, 2025. In addition to a long career with the jazz fusion group Passport, he also did a number of soundtracks and library releases. The most famous of his compositions would probably be The Neverending Story and Das Boot soundtracks. He's credited on a few Berlin and Bosworth records, although I'm not sure the level of his involvement with the records or if he is credited as songwriter.

In Germany Klaus Doldinger is arguably most famous for his theme for the TV show Tatort from 1970 (Tatort: "crime scene", spelled Taht - Ort), which is still running.

I learned today that Matthias Holtmann, who played drums on a lot of German library recordings (Sonoton, Intersound, Selected Sound, etc.), passed away recently, November 9th.

I wasn't previously aware of this, but he was seemingly better remembered in his native Germany as a prolific radio personality.

RIP.

Just learned that Guy Moon (Composer for the Bartmania tracks from Sonoton) passed away two days ago after being by a vehicle while riding a scooter. He passed away from traumatic injuries.
Rest in piece...
