Ryszard Poznakowski died on yesterday night. Even though the number of library music tracks he composed is minuscule (one song each on Coloursound and Selected Sound repertoire), it's still a loss:
https://www.rmf24.pl/kultura/news-nie-zyje-muzyk-i-kompozytor-ryszard-poznakowski,nId,7867125#crp_state=1

He wrote a lovely piece, Koniec Sezonu, recorded by Orkiestra Polskiego Radia I Telewizji W Łodzi, which under the title 'Summer Symphony' was used on the BBC test card in the 80s - sorry to hear he's died.

No mention of Vic Flick so far, so I'll mention him - composer of a fair few library tracks, and guitarist on many more (he was one of Syd Dale's regular rhythm players for Amphonic).  Oh, and he played the James Bond guitar as well...he died a couple of weeks back.

Thanks for this LT. Laurie was an enormously talented musician whose work behind the scenes contributed to the success of so many entertainers. A great loss.

I just listened to Ennio Morricone's Uccidete il vitello grasso e arrostitelo at work yesterday. Fantastic soundtrack! She is featured on "Scivolando nel buio" and "Mamma."

Here are two 45s with vocals by Ms. Orlandi. I posted them on the board nine years ago(!). The FLAC versions are new.

Yes, Lalo Schifrin wrote some damn good stuff which is timeless. Thankfully his music lives on.

Yes, this one hits hard. A true legend. I sent him an email in 2008 and heard back through his assistant:

"Mr. Schifrin is very pleased to know that you are a true fan and he appreciates your comments.  He had live in New York city for five years before he moved to California in 1963.  Also, he performed several times at the Blue Note and has given concerts at Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Center.  The last one was a few years ago with Winston Marsales in a tribute to Duke Ellington."

"He thanks you very much for your support and sends you his best wishes."

Best regards,
