Here is a Network Production Music Demo disc that I picked up from a thrift store a while back. I was very surprised to find this pristine library album among the numerous worn out easy listening pop albums at the store I went to. My guess is that Network sent these out far and wide to radio stations and production studios to promote their library, but it is a mystery to me as to how it ended up in this thrift store.

There is no date written on the disc or sleeve, but a search on Discogs revealed a release date of 1982. This demo disc is a single sided album and is a single 17 minute track that fades through clips of the Network library. At the end of the track, the narrator explains the Network licensing model and that the library is available on LP and 7 1/2 and 15 IPS tape :).

Here's the download link:

I have practically everything from Network (source 15 IPS tape) but never knew about or heard of this demo disc. This will be an interesting listen to see what tunes they showcase and what era they put the demo out. Thanks for sharing this rarity.

Thanks, Opl3.

Doesn't look like there's any gaps in the music so I don't know if the track can be separated via Audacity.

Anybody have a second opinion on this?

 :)

I'm not sure if understand you correctly, but there are no problems cutting this file up in separate tracks. You won't get clean transitions, though, if that's what you mean, since every track is crossfaded.

Thanks a lot for sharing this rarity, Opl3!  :)

Yes, that's what I suspected but wasn't sure if this was true or not. It's always good to hear from other, independent sources, aside from running dialog in my head (those same voices which are always telling me to do baaaad things...)  ::)

Thanks for your advice, EMTB. I'll leave the music as is.

You're welcome, Muffy!  :)

The voices in my and your head should meet up someday, I'm sure they have a lot of things to talk about.  ;D
