I'll admit it's quite a bit better than I was expecting - though this doesn't sound 1960's at all. While fascinating as a concept, I find AI-generated music ultimately sounds very... hollow.
It's a bit like the misconceptions people sometimes have against library music, that it's all just bland and generic and churned out without a second thought.

I wouldn't consider this "library" since it just appears to be inspired by it and (thankfully) not actual music that you license, i'm not sure if anyone else saw this but a while ago there were AI-Generated music pieces attributed to Manfred Minnich that appeared on his auto-generated YouTube channel for a bit, they obviously weren't by Minnich but they were uploaded to fool people that they were Minnich's work when in fact it was just AI. they were since removed from his auto-generated channel although they are still up on another topic channel.

While fascinating as a concept, I find AI-generated music ultimately sounds very... hollow.

Sound quality wise some of it sounds like badly encoded MP3s, with a sort of fuzzy, aliased sound to it.  And I've found some of the things I come across on YouTube easy to spot because they use the same "female" singer. 

If someone isn't working on a book about the early days of AI music they soon will be.(Hopefully not done by AI!) And there will be all sorts of interesting stories.  Like Neon Oni, an AI generated Japanese female hard rock/heavy metal duo.  The creator eventually recruited some actual Japanese musicians to perform as Neon Oni after both the "band" became quite successful on Spotify and it became obvious they were AI generated.

This might be an appropriate thread to mention this idea. Call it pie in the sky and crazy, but I wonder if it would be possible to develop a computer system where you can sing or la-la the melody, then paste actual, sampled instrument sounds onto the la-la vocal so your sung melody becomes an actual instrumental piece. If it could be multitracked, you could then create an entire orchestral work without any piano keyboard input.

I would so get obsessed with it! It wouldn't be AI-generated, but AI-realised... which I think would be a much more honest and fruitful use of AI in a musical application.

I really wouldn't recommend AI music, because actual human-written library music (And actual human-written music in general) has tons more creativity, ideas and soul than low quality AI. Not only that, but AI also steals from other creators without consent and gets things wrong as well, plus, generating music with AI degrades cognition. If you want to make some music, you have to put effort and actual love, care and ideas into it. The song doesn't have to be an original idea, nor does it have to be perfect-sounding, but you still got to put effort and work into it, instead of using generative AI.

I haven't tried this particular trick but I do know that it's possible to convert an audio file into a MIDI one in a DAW such as Logic Pro. Once the track is in MIDI you could assign whatever instrument you want to it.
