Anyone willing to trade rips with me?
« on: Today at 03:20:16 AM »
I will trade the Music Energy 5 album that I recently acquired for some obscure 90's music libraries, though obscure libraries from other decades is fine as well. I am asking this because I need to trade other music libraries to receive the remaining Music Energy albums (2, 3, 4).

Note that I will only accept digital rips and I will give you a digital rip of ME5.

I really want music energy, but why should we have to trade?
At LMT, we like to share what we want to the entire community, not just one person.
I'm not against trading, but just saying...

Retromatic has the remaining albums on his website, but they are password protected and nobody knows what they are as far as I know. I wanted to purchase rips from another collector but he refused because he sold his physical copies to Retromatic. He said that he is willing to trade, however. His YT channel is here: youtube. com/@%E5%B0%8F%E7%BE%BD-k8o/videos (remove the space)

Or hopefully a person who downloaded those aforementioned albums earlier still has them and is willing to upload them here?

I remember someone that was most likely you had their songs you used an internet archive tool to use on your channel.

That YouTube channel, the owner's name is Chun. He is my best friend on LMT, and his username is ChunYinZi.

Yeah, you commented on the Seaside Cafe track specifically. As I mentioned previously, I do not own ME2, ME3, nor ME4. I extracted those tracks from games that use the sound library given their metadata. I messaged Chun about the password for the Music Energy albums about two months ago, but he said he didn't know the password and recommended me to wait for Retromatic to respond. I messaged him quite a few times via email however. I am not sure if I can trade the ones he especially wants but he said that he might trade other albums so I think I could have a chance of receiving the other 3 albums this year at least. I probably can only trade digitally with him as he only owns those remaining albums digitally.

That Internet Archive tool was ME_DB, after I get the remaining albums, I don't think I would need it anymore.

The tool is here: https://pixeldrain.com/u/R3JCuyKA

Retromatic responded, then I donated $15 and received the remaining albums!

Yes, but there is a problem. A lot of the files in Music Energy 2 seem to be corrupted. I don't know why this is the case, but it could be encryption. What I mean is that the file sizes seem to be far too small.

This is the first time I have heard he has responded since 2025.
I hope he will continue to help us get the albums I want too!

I think I have fixed the problem. When I copy-pasted the files from POWERISO, it gave me the grayed-out files compared to the blacked-out files. Grayed-out files are hidden files while blacked-out means it is visible through normal means. The MIDIs all have grayed-out and blacked-out files on ME2, but not on the other volumes for some reason. Unfortunately, a few loops only have grayed out versions, but the WAVE versions are mostly shortened variants anyway so that is not much of a problem IMO.

Oh I realized that only a few loops have grayed out versions and all of them have normally visible versions.

I think those hidden files showing up might be due to my computer settings, which overwritten the non-hidden files, which are the ones that actually work.

Another important thing about the Music Energy series is how the WAVE files on the discs are actually mostly shortened versions of the MIDI files, so if you want longer tracks make sure you play the MIDI files. I believe the music was designed for SC-88 Pro playback, so if someone here has an SC-88 Pro may you play these MIDI files (especially the ones in the PRO-GS folder) on a SC-88 Pro?
