My first attempt at ripping a record so forgive me if it's not perfect. I couldn't figure out how to separate the tracks using Audacity so it's divided into sides A and B.

A children's record by my favourite library composer. To me, the first track is one of most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard! It's short but it somehow captures what it feels like to be a child

I couldn't figure out how to separate the tracks using Audacity so it's divided into sides A and B.

I've done it a couple of times without knowing anything about the process (and not much about Audacity) before.

PS Dear grendizer1, when I tried to split your rip of Le Grenier de Mathieu I noticed that it features clipping in various places both on side A and B. You can see this by importing the audio into Audacity, selecting the entire track and choosing "Analyze > Find clipping ..." from the menu.

As this is a very interesting record, would you be able to re-record it with properly adjusted recording levels? Meaning: a bit lower, so clipping does not occur. Try aiming at the loudest samples being about half-way between 0.5 (or -0.5) and 1 (or -1).

I recommend recording with a 24-bit resolution. In this way you'll have enough headroom to record it so that the samples don't go near the extremes (1.0 and -1.0). Then the recording can later be normalised and still have a good resolution.

Your rip of Arvanitas' Pink Magic is free from clipping, by the way. Thanks!

I re-recorded it with 24 bit as you recommended and used the "Normalize" and "Noise Reduction" features on it. Hope it sounds better. Still couldn't separate the tracks, tried following their instructions but just ended up getting annoyed as I wasn't getting anywhere.

Hi, I would suggest using an app like Fission to split files if other apps are giving you problems. Fission is super simple.
