I found an old website for Sound Factory, a Japanese music library, and at the end of one of their CD preview MP3s there are a few songs with vocals.
Why is this strange?
Sound Factory has no songs with vocals
And they cannot be found on their new website, under the album.
But my friend ChunYinZi was able to find a live version of the last song, titled "Hold Me Tight".
I want the song before it, which probably has the title of "Clean My Room". But we have no progress on that one yet.
If you can try to find any of the songs with vocals, whether it's a different recorded version or the version on the preview, that would be very very helpful.

Here's the audio:

web.archive.org/web/20071018072859/http://www.soundfactory.co.jp/sstaff_mp3/SOUND_STAFF_vol_24_demo.mp3

and here's "hold me tight":

youtube.com/watch?v=fTNlx0Vyh68

If the song is by Dead Stock, the vocal recordings from the preview are most likely theirs too, but maybe later recordings?

I believe Retromatic has this CD (SOUND STAFF Vol. 24 SWEET CORN), did anyone buy it from him?

Thank you,

To my surprise, “Hold Me Tight” wasn't recognized, and there were no copyright notices on YouTube.
This means the song hasn't been uploaded to any streaming platforms.

My understanding is that the original version of this song comes from Sound Factory.

It's highly likely that “Dead Stock” produced this track specifically for Sound Factory back in the day.

Then, as time went on, Sound Factory announced its closure, and they no longer held the copyright to “Hold Me Tight.”

“Dead Stock” re-recorded this song in later years, but the vocals and arrangement were different from the original.

In recent years, DL Music has started re-releasing music from the Sound Factory era, but they don’t hold the copyright to “Hold Me Tight,” so it can’t be found on DL Music.

This is just my speculation,

“Dead Stock” is also merely speculation; who exactly sang it remains unknown. Perhaps we might discover something from the CD.

This may be the original team behind the song “Hold Me Tight”

Here's some clues I found:
1. Dead Stock has a Facebook page, I haven't checked it yet but I believe it must be the same band.
2. If you go far enough into the Sound Factory website, you can see there are track listings. And for this album only, there is a vocal section. There are 3 songs and many shortened versions of them. This must mean they're all by Dead Stock, recorded for Sound Factory in the 90s. I have heard this album could be from 2001, but I doubt it since these songs sound very dated. I hope someone shows up with this album, because I need the vocal tracks; they're so good!

Do you think this band could be made up of Sound Factory staff or musicians? Or the singer recorded demos of their tracks for Sound Factory before the band met?

I don’t know the details, but if you’re interested, you can look into it yourself.

I really love “Hold Me Tight.”

So I’ve been trying to find a way to buy this CD, but it’s not available online right now.

Maybe I’ll have to try buying it from Retro Matic, but no one has been able to get in touch with him for the past six months.

I’ll just have to leave it up to fate. Maybe this year—or in the future—there will be more Sound Factory CDs available.

By the way, I have a copy of the CD *Sound Staff Vol. 23 - Brush Up*, which is listed as having been released in 1993.

So I don’t think *Sound Staff Vol. 24 - Sweet Corn* was released in 2001.

Hm ok.. It says on DL music something like "Sound Staff: 1989 to 2001" but that must be when most music from that era was released.
Because some music after 2001 Is compilations.

Something interesting happened though, one time I entered my name and email to Musrc.com to request a CD, and it said it couldn't be sent.

I just tried it with Sound Staff Vol. 24 Sweet Corn and it sent successfully.

Perhaps it was an error the first time, but it gives me hope.

I love Hold Me Tight as well, and A Song for Sweep. I like them all, really!

You can add this to your CD requests, I'll do the same with mine! I found one song from this album from one of my friends, it is YouTube quality but I like it a lot. It's an instrumental though, earlier in the album.
