RM Post #2: Ten Sound Maker Albums!
« on: April 04, 2026, 05:36:11 AM »

Hey everyone! Welcome back to another Retromatic CD rip revival post!

This week, I'm introducing a series of music library albums released by Media Works Japan in the 90s.

As you can guess, their music library series is from Japan.

It's a mixed bag of similar instruments but different genres and moods, and I really quite like this music library.

On each album, there are usually four or five songs I like, and some I don't like as well. I think you will find something here worth listening to.

So yeah, what I'm giving to all of you here is most of all the Sound Maker albums RM owns!

Currently, I'm missing volumes 9, 11, 13, and 14 from this series. There are 14 albums in total. Here, there were nine, now there are ten.

As you can see, there are QR codes on the covers, to identify as a Retromatic rip. Please do not try and remove them and share them online. I'm still following what RM wants, even if he's not on this forum anymore.

From what I could find online, the first 3 albums, are most likely released in 1990. The rest, not sure. I would guess 4 to at least 7 are 1991, and volume 12 seems to be a newer addition to the series.

Media Works Japan has other music library series, but this is their Flagship one. They are still alive and well, actually, so you can still buy their CDs and other products!
You can see their still functioning website here:

Recently, I even made a post in the "Labels" area here on them.

Anyhow, these Retromatic posts of mine couldn't have been possible without Retromatic (of course) and BenKirb! Thank you so much for your generosity!

But without further ado, I present to you..more than 4 GB worth of Sound Maker music!

Enjoy!

Nice!
I think actually 1-5 are my favorite albums, I like the retro sound and most of those songs were used in JR DVDs.

I know people who own all of the rest of them and I’m working on getting volume 3, so when I eventually buy them all in the future, I’ll share them all!

IT'S UPDATE POST TIME

A few days ago, just like I said, I was able to receive Sound Maker Volume 3 from one of my Japanese friends.

The audio is lossy, I think. It's 320 kbps mp3, which I know, is outdated, but it IS a CD rip, so I'm pretty sure it's better quality than you think.

This album is not actually from Retromatic, as you may tell.

I would love to give a warm thanks to the people who helped make this one possible, my Japanese friend, Hibiki Sato, as well as a member of LMT, ChunYinZi, who was able to provide the scans/covers of the album. He got them from Retromatic, but the CD rip is not from Retromatic.

Release year - most likely 1990

Favorite song - Back Streetで乾杯!

Note - Song 15 is a bonus track that is included in this volume. On their website, it is just called ?(BONUS TRACK), but other than that, it has no name.

Enjoy!
