Beyond Our Ken Outro
« on: March 23, 2026, 05:15:09 PM »
It's rare that I ask a question under this category but I was listening to an episode of the BBC comedy show Beyond Our Ken at the weekend and wondered what the outro music to series 4 episodes was. I know that Paul Fenhoulet and the BBC Variety Orchestra were credited with the music for each episode but I'm not sure the piece in question was played by them and was more an off-the-shelf item. Does anyone know the title of this piece (Lord Thames I'm looking in your direction!)? ==> pixeldrain.com/u/NforG5W7

This is actually a version of the Paxton cue "Spending Spree" by Andy Thurlow (AKA Harry Rabinowitz) (PR.681) that is exclusive to this program, and not from the original Paxton 78. Each episode usually has the BBC Variety Orchestra playing this piece at the end of every episode.

My goodness WSBG that's impressive! Spot on. Thank you. I knew it sounded familiar. The track on PR 681 is credited to Paul Franklin & His Orchestra. An identical version is also on Atmosphere Archive AACD-02 Everyday Events credited to Dolf van der Linden & The Metropole Orchestra. I presume the former is an alias of the latter.
