やってみよう!No. 4 Tokyo J-Pop
« on: Today at 03:18:26 AM »

Welcome back to the やってみよう!series! It's only been a few days before we last met up here, but I will explain why in a bit.
i present to you, やってみよう!No. 4 Tokyo J-Pop!!
At this point, if you're following up on my series on library music, the やってみよう! library music series, then you know the deal.
Each album is based and inspired by a favorite music library of mine, mostly from Japan.
So far, we've had 3 albums:
No. 1 - Inspired by Roland Professional Music Library, or C MUSIC
No. 2 - Inspired by Sound Maker Shizen series, weather channel music, and frutiger aero
No. 3 - Inspired by Otojiten SFX and Jingles library

and this one?
My all time FAVORITE music library.
The Teichiku BGM Library, or Multi Use BGM Library!!
It's a library full of organic, dated, Japanese fusion-y music. It's an awesome library, and it's what got me into Music Libraries.
I literally poured my heart and soul out into this one. It's the kind of music I absolutely love making, even though it is quite difficult.
This album is a lot more instrument based and not so MIDI based. I recorded a whole lot of percussion instruments, drum set, and other stuff in most songs.
But, why did it only take 4 days or so to make this album?
You're incorrect. You know how long this took? It took me longer time than I knew it would even go on the album: a year!
All of the songs were recorded at different times in the past year, spread across different albums I have made as my solo artist stage name, Jypers.
But I go by DoctorDoodle19 here, as my hip-hop acid jazz artist name is Doctor Doodle. I haven't done anything there in a while.
But anyways, I'm getting off-topic.
I went back through these songs and remastered them, in a way. I fixed some volumes and tracks and made it sound better. This is what took about 4 days.
There are two covers of original Teichiku BGM in this album: Shopping Mall and Modern Scent, both which I recorded sometime last August.

But this album goes a lot deeper than you think. You will see why this is one of my top favorites in this series so far.
Here's an overview of what each song was inspired by:
1. Funky Move - Inspired by song 1 of Teichiku BGM Volume 16, a song titled "Funky Dance"
2. City Sunset - inspired by a lot of the fusion J-Pop city titled songs in the BGM Library
3. Scent of Spring - There are four songs in the library that have "Scent" in their name. I used a drum patch that sounds like a few songs from the library.
4. Chiara - Inspired by some of the ballad like songs from volume 18 by "H. Neibil"
5. Tropical Aquarium - Dedicated to Professor Kenji Nakagawa, a member of the "Chris Young Ensemble" section of the library who passed away the year I was born. I have a good friend who was also involved in this library, who was his student. Rest in peace, Kenji. 🕊 ❤
6. City Life - Inspired by "City Evening Scene" from Volume 24 by C. Adamo
7. Shopping Mall - Like I mentioned, it's a cover from volume 19 by H. Neibil. I sung some stuff in this tune!
8. Neon Baseball - inspired by "It's You Who Starts Running" by H. Neibil from volume 1
9. Modern Scent - Like mentioned, this is also a cover, from volume 1 by H. Neibil
10. Sun Dance - in the same style as the rest of the album, kind of caribbean based but not really inspired by a song.

I really hope you enjoy this album, it took a long time and a lot of effort to make.
