PACER Test music >:)
« on: March 04, 2026, 10:49:26 PM »
There's a lot of similar communities looking for the music from this test, including some from here (I think?).
Some of you here might know this test, such as people who were in school during the early 2000s in America, all the way up to today.
There are many different variations on the test, but the originals are the most mysterious.
They include songs sounding as dated as the 80s, and as new as the 2000s.
If this brings back terrible memories, I totally understand you.
Most of the songs from both tests have been identified, but there are still a few unknown tracks.
This is the part I've always found interesting, is that the songs they use, are so dated.
I will provide a list of all the songs.

 - PACER Test version A -
1. Unknown
2. "Hi Rollers" - Matthew Corbett & Mike Wilkie (2007) [Abaco Music Library]
3. "Groove 501" - Chris Goulstone (1996) [eMu Production Music Library]
4. "Born To Funk" - Stephan Sechi (2007) [Abaco Music Library]
5. "Middle Circle" Lyonel Bauchet (~1990s) [Mondiophone]
6. "Urban Moves" - Alain J. Leroux & Robin Redman (1986) [Mondiophone]
7. Unknown
8. "Urban Motion" - Chris Goulstone (1996) [eMu Production Music Library]
9. "Balearic" - Garry Judd (~2000s?) [Artful Music]

- Requests -
I know this is general discussion, but if you have any of these albums, I'd like them.
One of two sounds are used in the PACER test from any album I request.

Wicked 2 (eMu Production Music Library)
Connextion (Mondiophone)
Transamotion (Mondiophone & Florida Sound Group)
DANCE TRAX 2 (Music for Sport)

If you have any of these albums on CD, Vinyl, or have a rip of them downloaded, let me know.

Thank you!

P.S. the second installment in my own Music Library series drops here TOMORROW!
If you like the Frutiger Aero aesthetic, Weather Channel music, or Nature based New Wave, this one's just for you!
Don't miss it. we hope to see you there!

Some context: this was as CD of music and accompanying narration used for PE testing in schools, but it gained attention outside of this use both because of the upbeat, catchy music, and the slightly goofy voice-overs. I recall this being a minor internet meme at one point. It turns out the music consisted of licensed library cues.

Interestingly, library music pops up quite frequently in internet culture and memes, both old and contemporary.

-PACER Test Version B

Track 04 & Track 06

Both are from “Mondiophone”

productionmusic.fandom.com/wiki/MON-CD_93_-_Rhythmotek

productionmusic.fandom.com/wiki/MON-CD_111_-_On_the_Move

I even feel that - PACER Test Version A -

Track 01  &  Track 07

Also from Mondiophone

However, many of the company's albums are out of print, requiring CD purchases for verification. Personally, I'm not very interested in this label and haven't bought any of their CDs.

Wow ChunYinZi, This will be very very useful.
People have been looking for these songs for years, and yet they're both just from Mondiohone.
I just need to figure out which songs they are..
How do you know they’re from these albums?
Is there an audio preview?
Someone found the other songs on SoulSeek, but I don’t have the program.

Of course I have resources,

but my purpose is to tell these people where the music comes from, not to be responsible for providing them with the music itself.
I can vouch for the sources I mention, and if I'm wrong, I'm always open to their feedback.

I've listened to a lot of Mondiophone music before—their style is quite unique.

There's a lot of Rhythm Music style,

Since so many people are searching for this music and I've told them where to find it,
some will naturally go looking for the CDs. My responsibility is simply to inform them of the music's source.

If someone truly becomes obsessed with this, they might even purchase large quantities of Mondiophone CDs to see if the remaining two unknown tracks are included.

My perspective has shifted significantly lately. As I've mentioned before, I'm from China and founded a discussion group for music library enthusiasts from China.

As the group's founder, it has around 200 members.

Recently, however, I've blocked several individuals because they showed no gratitude whatsoever. In the past, I was more forgiving and overlooked their behavior.

but lately these individuals have been creating new accounts to harass me, constantly asking about music sources.

Among those I blocked, some openly sell Music Library resources—they extract music from the KPM MUSIC official website using plugins and then sell it openly. I find this utterly shameful.

Then there's this other person I've helped over a hundred times—finding music, answering questions—yet he shows zero gratitude. The moment I do something he dislikes, he turns around and berates me. He even forgets all the favors I've done for him.

I've noticed similar types lurking on LTM lately, so I've had enough of these jerks.

I even suspect they might go elsewhere to slander me, including on LTM. But I have evidence of their defamation and lies. If it comes to that, I'll take action.

This is also why my mindset has changed. I used to be too kind—they thought they could keep exploiting me.

I'm sorry you've had such a bad experience ChunYinZi. I really miss the days when you were more active on LMT but fully understand your reasons for taking a step back.

It's a shame that people have taken advantage of your considerable knowledge of all things Library only to behave in an unacceptable manner or profit financially from your goodwill. From what you say it is almost like a virus that has infected other forums but recently has now spread to LMT. You are well-known to members of this forum and have established a good reputation. I think I speak for everyone when I say that any attempt to damage that reputation will not be entertained here. All the very best.

nidostar, thank you for comforting me.

From when I joined LTM in 2022 until now, it's been three and a half years.

I can't even remember how many people I've helped or how many resources I've provided, but it's all been done of my own free will—no one forced me.

In China, many fellow enthusiasts have offered me comfort. Since 2017, we've gradually connected and even met in person. We respect and acknowledge each other.

Yet there's an old Chinese saying: “A tall tree catches the wind.” Once you gain influence within a circle, some will resent you. They'll question your qualifications or abilities—especially when you can't meet their demands.

I can also reveal that some of the individuals I mentioned earlier—those I've blocked or silenced—also have accounts on LTM. They frequently post questions in the “Track IDs” section, yet receive no replies. Since I recognize them, I certainly won't respond.

But these people have even spread rumors, claiming I bribed LTM users to deliberately ignore their messages.

I find such rumors utterly frustrating. Their psychological maturity seems no higher than a 12-year-old's.

Out of privacy concerns, I won't disclose their LTM IDs.

I just want to say: in everything you do, be true to your own conscience.

Aw man, that's messed up, Chun. I'm so sorry for what you had to go through those bad times. I really hope bad things won't ever happen to you like that again. I really miss those days when you were more active on LMT back then either. I really wish you a good success and a good luck this year. We are praying for you, my friend!
Also, if i done something bad like that, i'm so sorry. Please forgive me for what i've done.

I’m sorry for what you had to go through, ChunYinZi. Since you posted this on a thread I made, I really hope I am not one of those people you’re annoyed with. If I am, I am so, so sorry. I am so thankful for everything you have helped me with and I was not at any means requiring you to tell me where I could view a preview.
I hope, with time, some of the people you blocked could somehow apologize to you. I think you deserve it. You do a lot of things to help others and no one should treat you like that. Again, if that was me too, I’m very sorry.
