Hello!
As you know, some of the April Orchestra albums released by CBS are based on instrumental versions of songs from French CBS.
I really really like "April Orchestra vol. 39" album and I'm interested in the vocal versions of those tracks (I'm almost 100% sure that they're instrumental versions of actual songs, considering how they sound).  :)

Any ideas on how can I find them efficiently?
Maybe you could recommend some forum groups where I could ask people about it?
Maybe you know what these songs are?

Methods I tried:
  • I tried to find the songs by the people credited in the release: producers, songwriters, etc. on Discogs
  • I tried to find those songs exploring all the releases from French CBS on Discogs (filtered by years and genre)
  • Edit: Now I even have written the request to some of those artists on Facebook (lol)

I unfortunately only know of the two listed on Discogs already, both from "Brass & Congas" (CBS 83690, 1979):
"Système 80" (Thierry Durbet - Harry Williams Verschu) = "New-York" (R. Moreau - C. Monique)
"32 rue des Pommiers" (T. Durbet - H.-W. Verschu) = "That's Enough" (S. Claude - C. Monique)

Here's the whole LP, but unfortunately not a very good rip (not mine):

Note the writing credits are, curiously, not the same.
I'm not sure what is listed on the sleeve of the original French release, but the Italian reissue of the Brass & Congas mentions that "Harryson" (Harry Williamson) served as producer, and Thierry Durbet as arranger for the LP, which at least explains the connection between the two.

Harry Williams served as producer on a lot of French releases under a lot of different names, and Christos Pertsinidis and Costa Papadoukas (both Greek, I assume) were both fairly prolific session musicians.
I haven't been able to find this one yet, but a project which is tied to all three and a good candidate for some of the other tracks is this single by "FOS":

- "Johnny Williams SON" is also Harry Williams.

and this seemingly related Greek-issued LP "Friends" by "New Energy":

- also produced by Johnny Williams Son, this one additionally has a songwriting credit by "A. Margaro", which is a known alias of Alexandros Bougiouzis/Bougiouris.

While looking for more info just now, I learned that Christos Pertsinidis put out a solo album last year, and is still active as a guitarist - maybe contacting him directly through social media might be an easy way to get a definitive answer, as you mention.

Happy hunting! I hope you'll keep us updated if you ever get an answer from them.
