There are a whole load of Sonoton CDs here, thanks to Blackwatchplaid who uploaded them a month or two ago. They are in flac, which is every bit as good as wav. If you want to convert to wav format, download a free program called freac which batch-converts loads of files from flac to wav in one go.

I appreciate you posting my link here but this user does not want the files from APM or UPM as they compress the audio in a way he doesn't like. There was a whole blowup about it last week, hence the very specific nature of this request, it has to be CDs and can't be FLAC (because that makes sense lol).

....and in any case the ingratitude @Christopher-2010 showed towards shares we offered him previously does not inspire me to consider requests from him from now on.

Yes I remember...maybe if we keep repeating the fact that flac is as good as wav, everybody will eventually get it!  8]

Personally I am very happy to get files from UPM or APM! By the way, why does every library have to have a three letter name ending in PM? Do they all have to play homage to the great KPM this way? My eyebrows were raised when Carlin became CPM.

I feel like it could be a coincidence, as PM always means Production Music. Plus I believe KPM stands for Keith Prowse/Peter Maurice, being named after their merger with Peter Maurice Music Company. The label was originally named KP Music, or Keith Prowse Music.
Peace, Love, and Library Music!

I wish I shared your optimism Swingalong. As I said last week the fact that a file has a WAV suffix does not in itself guarantee high quality audio. It is merely a container which could contain lossy audio if someone were mean enough to upscale an MP3 in this way. Though it doesn't seem to stop requests for "WAV quality" files. Or am I being too pedantic?

It's an education issue. Older generations know this stuff like they know the color of grass or the fact the sky is blue. Younger generations seem to not only not know stuff, but can't see the value in learning the stuff, when they have a phone that will tell them everything they need to know. I saw a not inexperienced board member here saying he didn't know how to determine the bitrate of an mp3 file they had, and didn't seem very interested in learning how either.

Oh for god's sake, @Christopher-2010. Just enjoy it.

FLAC is same as WAV, but it's compressed while still lossless. You need knowledge here.

@Christopher-2010 when he want WAV:
(making crying howling sound) Aaawooouuuuuuuuu...

Me when @Christopher-2010:
Oh for the love of God, @Christopher-2010. I know you were being a bit ungrateful, but please hear me out. FLAC is WAV, but still lossless even compressed, and reduces file size up to 70%, without sacrificing data and audio quality. Looks like you need to learn what's the difference between FLAC and WAV i guess. Perhaps maybe Google it so you can hear the difference yourself? You just learned the difference just now, but now you're repeating this? Come on. Instead of complaining about not getting WAV, enjoy it!

(My apology in advance for this. This is just to ensure @Christopher-2010 learn the difference between FLAC and WAV.)

What is wrong with you. I told you I'll except FLAC but it can't be from a production music library. Stop attacking me like I'm not a good person.  :'(
