Europhon ELP586 Mr. Musicman
« on: November 26, 2025, 01:22:11 PM »
Can anyone provide a nice lossless copy of ELP586? Mine has a few crackles, notably in track 3 (42-46 seconds in)... and I tried to remove them in Audacity but it couldn't identify and remove the clicks for some unknown reason. I tried to install Cool Edit Pro but it refused to install on my computer! And then I looked for my installation CD of Magix Audio Cleaning Lab which I'd used on my old computer, but it's gone missing! Do you ever get that feeling that everything is working aginst you?  ::)

So I'm hoping someone can come to the rescue.  :)

Cool Edit Pro is an archaic version of Adobe Audition

Archaic, but good. Unless you have my computer that is, in which it won't install!  ::)

Try this Swingalong. I'll tell you what I've done, so any purists amongst us please look away now! I ran each track through ClickRepair but at a low De-Click setting. I then went through track 3 and found a rogue click which ClickRepair hadn't deleted and managed to remove it manually via the Repair function in Audacity. I then Normalized each track as I found them to be a little quiet and biased more towards the left channel. Et voilą! I hope that helps

Archaic as in, it won't install on your computer, which makes it useless actually.

Here's a portable version of Adobe Audition CC 2017 10.0.1 portable so you don't have to install anything. Download at your own risk, it is tested and works on Win7 SP1

Thanks Blackwatchplaid. I actually downloaded a copy of Audition a few years ago but it came with very complex instructions for installation, so I decided to leave it until I had a decent computer to install it on! Maybe that day will come soon...

In the meantime I shall try your copy and hopefully that will do the trick!  :D
