Sonoton Vinyl Series (Digital)
« on: October 27, 2025, 10:17:07 AM »

Every album on this page is included in this upload:

https://search.cavendishmusic.com/repertoire/Sonoton%20Vinyl%20-%20SONV

If you can't see that page, here's a screenshot of all the albums

Sonoton remastered their Vinyl series sometime in the last 4-5 years. Each album is double size. It has the full album remastered and also the original recording. The remastered versions are always first, so if you don't want the remaster, only keep the second set of titles, if you only want the remaster, only keep the first set of titles.

I'm not a real big fan of their remasters if you want my opinion. The records sounded better for the most part.

It's worth noting that these files are as I got them, just converted to FLAC and with cleaned up filenames. For the most part, the tags are as UPM tagged them, I did not use any external tagging like discogs/amazon, etc. Just got rid of ALL CAPS, fixed any info I knew was wrong and made the filenames readable. If something is wrong or mislabeled, it's UPM's doing, not mine. All extended tags (mood, comments, genre, remaster info, descriptive sentences) are intact in either the MOOD tag or the COMMENT tag

I used pixeldrain for this one again. My reasons are such. The download limit that was a source of complaints the last time I used pixeldrain is not remedied using other services. Swisstransfer is temporary and the speed is slow, Transfer.it is also slow and will not work in jDownloader, Mega.nz limits you to about 3-6GB before cutting you off for several hours. I love mediafire, but no one will use my tutorial to bypass errors, wait times, and download limits, preferring to do it their own way then complaining about the errors my tutorial fixes. Plus each free account only gives 10GB storage space, so it's mildly annoying having to create 10 accounts for a large upload job. The fact they snoop inside the archives looking for copyrighted works is also not ideal. Pixeldrain has no upload limits, I can upload 100s of GB to a single account. Since the download limit isn't any better than mega, we're gonna stick with PD for now and see how that shakes out.

Don't expect to download these all in one go unless you are a premium user of pixeldrain. I DO NOT recommend giving any of these services your money. Patience is a virtue and back in the day, we had it.

There are 213 albums in total, 185GB. FLAC, 24bit, 48khz.

"Patience is a virtue and back in the day, we had it."

Well I certainly didn't!  ::)

Marvellous archive again BlackwatchPlaid, and certainly a few I've been looking for! Thank you!

PS Pixeldrain seems to be working better for me now, but as you've probably guessed, I've hit the buffers and I'll have to come back tomorrow!

Why? You are achieving nothing by bloating those files to huge sizes.

I wonder what you mean by this exactly. I converted from wave to flac, it is not bloating anything.

I think you have misunderstood, Bronic. The WAV files BWP are referring to contain lossless data. But being WAVs they are large files. Converting them to FLAC reduces the size of the file without detriment to the lossless data.

Flac files are generally about half the size of wav files, with no sound quality lost.

With the origin being WAV files the conversion makes more sense. Thanks for the clarification, guys.
