ITN Election 1979 - please help identify

ITVX has recently uploaded the ITN Election 1979: The Nation Decides programme and it starts with some theme music. I would hazard a pretty certain guess that it's from a music library as most ITN news music was at that time.

Just wondering if anyone recognises it? Any assistance in identifying the track greatly appreciated!

Any chance you could provide us with just the audio extract you'd like us to identify. I'm not saying I'll be any help but I found wading through numerous ads and trailers only for the connection to freeze is a bit more than I can manage! Oh, and best you don't use live hyperlinks. I'd suggest replacing some characters in the address with asterisks thus "h***s"

Actually, if I could be cheeky and ask for help with another one - the election theme just before Task Force in the following video is one I'm wondering about. Given the politicians are Heath and Wilson I'm guessing this was from 1974:

Again, I would very much appreciate any help in identifying this. I do appreciate it's a very short excerpt of music in the video though so it might be a difficult one!

I know that one, and I definitely have it, but I can't place it at the moment - I think it might be a Conroy piece, I'll see if I can remember!

Thanks, that would be brilliant if you can have a think! I find it really hard identifying music at the best of times so it's amazing you got the 1979 one so quickly.

It's handy that Lord Thames has a good knowledge of library music as the Boosey track  doesn't appear to have an audio fingerprint.
