Ember ERL 3321, 3326, 3337, 3338
« on: August 30, 2025, 01:39:58 AM »
At the request of apmnut who asked for them, the below folder contains the following Ember LPs:
ERL 3321 Compreshensive Strings (aka Musik Nach Feierabend) - Heinz Hötter und sein Orchester
ERL 3326 Rainy Night In Rome - Roberto Rossi and his Orchestra

As a bonus I have also included:
ERL 3337 Moods Miscellaneous - Ray Martin Orchestra (the sound quality on this is appalling - not my fault, they actually thought it was OK to put something out that sounded as bad as this!)
ERL 3338 Dry Martin-i - Ray Martin and his Orchestra

Thanks for these Embers LT. My goodness, yes, "appalling" is probably an understatement. The sound quality on 3337 is thin - sounds like they placed the mics in the property next door to the studio. Plus the wow and flutter on each track suggests the tape the vinyl was pressed from was a copy of a pretty poor quality master. I think Greta shared this as one of trkizbrki's bunches back in January. Not sure whether they added any EQ but it seems to have a little bit more depth to it. Not much mind!

Oops, corrected!  But you are welcome to enjoy them too!

I certainly haven't EQ'd my version, on the grounds you can't really polish a turd.  I wonder if these are recycled film or TV soundtracks from Ray's spell in America?  They've got that feel about thrm.

.....or a tertee-tree and a turd (with apologies to our Irish members)!

I know what you mean. There was a time back in the sixties when some US-pressed albums and singles suffered from massive over compression resulting in dreadful dynamic range and lack of clarity. By comparison the German studios, Polydor in particular, were producing fabulous quality stuff.

Thanks Lord Thames!

In the spirit of all things, Ember, you've inspired me to get photos of the catalogue online - link in the Coded Music Library thread.

Big thanks from me LT, appreciated. Ember isn’t a library that’s overly familiar to me and only recently started to uncover what it has to offer.

Many thanks from me for supplying my ears with these goodies!

Really enjoying "Comprehensive Strings" in particular, there's some lovely, fun cues on there (listening to "Walking Flirt" as I type this)!
