Possible DeWolfe cues in "The Crazies" (G. Romero)
« on: June 20, 2025, 06:48:03 PM »
Hey all,

Been a big fan of library music from being exposed to it in George Romero's film "Dawn of the Dead".  Recently I went through his back catalogue in order to ID as many library tracks as I could with the help of what DeWolfe uploaded.  I believe these remainder cues are DeWolfe but haven't been uploaded to the site.

I found almost all the cues in "The Crazies" except these 5.  I uploaded them here in a video:

One of the cues doesn't sound like DeWolfe but I added it just in case.  The last cue sounds like a harp but I'm not sure if its from DeWolfe, or some sound FX.

I also think that the banjo cue, and the acoustic guitar/whistle cue of "Johnny Comes Marching Home" may be on the same record.

Also Crazies was in post production in 1972.  My guess is the cues would probably be from DeWolfe between 1964-1972, with more of a lean towards 69-71.

Thanks!

With some luck I was able to find the last short stinger cue.  Still would appreciate any help on the other 4, thanks!

I only just saw this. I love these projects. I wish I’d seen it earlier but I’ll help with the DW LPs you’re looking for when I get some time. They should be easy enough to get so someone might beat me to it.  Good luck.

Thanks!  I think I recognize you from the Dawn facebook groups.  As of right now, I'm just missing 4 cues from Jack's Wife, 4 cues from Crazies, and 2 or 3 from The Amusement Park.  I think some of the missing cues could be on Electroshock No 2, Tilsley Orchestral 1, 5 and 9.  Those may be good places to check.

I can make a similar video for Jack's Wife if you wanna help there too.
