Hello friends.
I'm a huge fan of Tony & Gaynor Sadler.
I would be very happy if you could help with these.

I can provide you an uncut / non-split version of this album. Not sure who provided this rip in the first place, so respect to them. I've included the track listings if you wish to split the tracks at a later date...

I just split it with Audacity's "Export Selected Audio" feature thanks to the very visible track ends and starts without even cutting anything and then you can just bulk-tag it with whatever your OS has available (e.g. iTunes).

Yes I use Audacity as well using Analyze>Silence Finder to create end/start flags for each track, adjusting them as necessary (by hand/ear!) and Export>Multiple as individual FLAC tracks which I then tag using, in my case, Kid3 for the Mac. The simplest and easiest way, I find.
And here's ATMOS 021 duly chopped and tagged and served with optional fries and salad!!

Without me trying it, but with that bloke always spelling out the track number before, is it really working?
I mean, I literally just swiped (marked) over the part that I thought is actual music and then exported it.

What a fantastic record - awesome!!
This is THE sound I am "looking" for, heh!
But I found that oddity again that, for some rason, Atmos23 is on Discogs as "released 1981", so it is tagged in these FLACs.
But I highly doubt that, a) Atmosphere released 23 disks in their founding year, that would make 2 weeks per album to produce.. and b) there are, if my ears are not mistaken, several Yamaha DX7 sounds out there - that keyboard released in 1983 as well as, again I might be mistaken, but is that a LinnDrum drum machine (1982 and later)?
Also, the overall style is way too mid-to-late 80s. There are certain things not present in the early 80s music that was still heavily disco-influenced. For example, "First Impression" has rich synth pads and the typical, high-reverb "claps" going on at 2:38. This is really the mid-80s pop influence rather than left-overs from the 70s. Same with the intro of "Nightlife". This is not the club/disco sounds I expect from the late 70s.
As the other albums were 1986, this disk might be from 1986 or 1987.
-
ATMOS 11 and 13 were used in 1986 episodes of Prisoner Cell Block H so I'd guess they were released 85, possibly 86 to give some timeline
-
It's such a shame they started to care about ℗ and © with their CD releases. The informations so far are pure guessworks, and I often wonder how some figured out the more plausible release years, because there are no copyrights on the LP sleeves or the records themselves. Judging from my experience with styles, sounds and intruments/tech used in these tracks, I grudgingly use those guesswork years for my tags. I allow one year difference, but everything else irks me to the point I rather not include said tracks into my collection..... (In general, I am getting very frustrated with certain labels. Missing release years, fine, but sometimes even the composers are messed and mixed up. Don't they need to be very strict about these names - it's about their pay after all if someone license those tracks.. KPM for example lists albums as "2001" on their website while on Discogs, you can see the 2000 copyright clearly on the disk's photo!)
EDIT: Oh, and also, without sounding too greedy, but are the other ATMOS LPs being shared too later or should I compile a more specific request in the subforum? Not all tracks are re-issued on the CDs of which I had access to thanks to our Chinese friend. I, just like Retronic, lost track of what is available on LMT within these two threads and what was discarded.
-
Thanks Retronic for the ATMOS 023.
-
I have some old CDs as well but they are stashed in the attic somewhere. I’ll look next time I’m up there.

So, I believe we are outstanding the following to complete the vinyl run. If anyone can help that would be fantastic...

ATMOS 007 - Only have as MP3
ATMOS 008
ATMOS 010 - 014 - Only have as MP3
ATMOS 016
ATMOS 017 - Only have as MP3

ATMOS 020 - Only have as MP3

I have recorded 2 and 7 and need to edit them. I have the rest on LP.
-
Hey Tony,
mind you sharing those MP3s (minus possible duplicates posted in this thread)?
I think, if we have this nice run on these ATMOS LPs going on, it would be nice to make it one big sweep.
Anything is appreciated as usual! :)

Yep, no problem. As promised yesterday, below are the links to the MP3 albums I have. Hopefully we will get some FLAC upgrades in the future. To be fair, they all sound good...

Very much appreciated!!
EDIT: Found a few gems! Very cool! I had a "Zaptrax" track already in my collection, but a second check can never hurt.
Also, I fell again for a spectrum! One of my new additions is a very minimalistic track that happens to cut off at 16 kHz but the rest of the album is 20 kHz - it is just because nothing really happens and it being synthesized that it naturally does not have high frequencies going on :D (Microworld by Jan Pulsford, ATMOS 10)

Thanks so much for this share Tony!

Thanks tony. :)

Hey!
First of all, I wanted to thank Tony so much for uploading these albums. Thank you very much especially for "Deeper Mysteries", I was really hungry for this one.
Here comes "A New Force (ATMOS 016)" in WAV. Sorry for crackling. I wish I could do something with it, but I'm not experienced in ripping off vinyls.
If you wish a clearer ripp or spot a skipping (cause this vinyl had skipping too), let me know!

Here you go!
Generally I use Google Drive, where I keep all the albums I got.

ATMOS 021 - http$://drive.google.com/drive/folders/10DEaMl_LvuoxB-KC9zT7dFYxPc2G_rH4?usp=sharing
Only 021 has been kept in lossless. In general all the stuff I download I immidiately convert to MP3 320 to save space.
I don't have 005 and 023.
However, I would also LOVE to have ATMOS 023, it has amazing vibe! The track "Project Launch" by Sadlers is even, I'd say, outstanding as for those last Atmosphere vinyl albums.

You also discussed an issue of release dates of those vinyl Atmosphere albums. Indeed, I can't understand why they simply couldn't give the release date, like it was irrevelant.
However, you think that, what I highlighted on this photo (under the link), could be an indication of when those albums were released? In this case it could be september 1985? Don't get upset if this theory is too naive, hahah. ;D
