2007ish- Babeworld TV/Asian Connections Soundtrack
« on: March 30, 2025, 05:23:31 AM »
Searching for who made this music!

I’m going to go for it although it’s a longshot, so years ago there was a company called J13 Broadcast ran by Mark Sawtell and Keith Goodyer in Milton Keynes, it included a TV show called Babeworld TV back in 2007 and for many years now I’ve been hunting down this mix from that show, the company is now defunct, I’m putting this out there as for the hope that somebody may have an idea who made this music or recognize something about it, it is likely to be have been somebody from MK.

Sounds like library music but can’t figure out which library would also mix it.

Please share this post far and beyond with the hope to attract the original makers of this music.

I know nothing about this (i'm a 70's and 80's library music guy), but since no one ever replied, thought I would :)

Based on the info you gave on this and that there are 2000's and beyond library experts here that haven't had an answer, i'm gonna say it's quite possible this may have been in house produced music for the company that made the show. Which is why no one has been able to ID it.

Sorry Jonathan but, like Porn Library, I'm more into earlier library music. I have listened to this piece but it sounds pretty much like any other from around this time. I agree that it could well be an in-house composition since it's not really beyond the capabilities of anyone with a DAW and a hint of musical knowledge.

I've searched many production websites over the years to find the tracks but nothing so far. It does sound like the kind of thing that someone would have produced at home however, so much material has become available of late, I'm rather surprised that it's not turned up somewhere.

I wish I could help you, but I don't know. I'm kind of more into the 1980s and 1990s library music (and radio imaging), but man I thought this sounds great. Hope someone might identify it, or not. I'm not quite sure.

A bit more context might help the hunt - what sort of show was Babeworld TV, and where was it first/originally broadcast? Where did you get a hold of this mix?

It's not at all unlikely that this is library music. The track starting at 21:17 sounds to be a 'sound-alike' imitation of ATB's "9PM".
You've probably come to the same conclusion, but a lot of the same presets/sounds can be heard throughout, so I'd guess the music all came from the same source.

Babeworld TV could be found in the adult section of the SKY TV guide in the UK and the name is a good description of what they offered, namely 'babes' in various states of undress inviting calls to a premium rate phone number to talk about news & current affairs (!).

The channels played background music, most often from production libraries and sometimes in house. J13 Broadcast in Milton Keynes ran the Babeworld channels and offshoots and at one time around 14 different channels were uplinked from J13.

It was mostly dance music , some provided by Digivibe  youtube.com/watch?v=jbNJ-Opaz0U&list=RDjbNJ-Opaz0U&start_radio=1 but rather more unusually some guitar based music by a talented musician going by the name of Chris West, who compossed and played some rather nice acoustic cuts. His work is on streaming services.  youtube.com/watch?v=4Fjw3fGTTrs&list=RD4Fjw3fGTTrs&start_radio=1

The 'missing' Babeworld music referred to in this thread was played on a loop from around 2007-2013 however, no one has claimed ownership of the music and it's not reappeared since then.

I haven’t had sky for years so not sure these channels still exist in 2026.  Anyway, have you reached out to the channel owners to see what the music used was. Chances are it would have been on a cd or held on a server similar to how the BBC played out their late night Ceefax music. Hopefully someone at the company could help out ?

The company went into administration a long time ago and I believe that the original poster has already asked former members of staff about the music concerned to no avail.

At the time, smaller channels were continuously launching and closing and the adult side of things has always attracted 'colourful' proprietors. One things for sure and that the music is not from a production library however, the composer has probably created other works and no doubt it'll eventually become clear who they are.
