Spence did a similar thing when he basically remade Ralph Dollimore's Hit and Run, as his version also uses the same title. (Is this a case of library music "ripping off" library music?)

There's got to be at least a couple of examples of library tracks copying library tracks that are actually the same writer using a different name, so they could sell the a reworked version of an old piece to a different label.

I know of two from Cliff Twemlow aka Peter Reno/John Agar/John Lewis etc.
 
"Summer Friend" originally released by De Wolfe, later recorded under the title "Sunset Stroll" by the Brno Radio Orchestra for the DI Music library, later published by Parry Music.

Also, the same with the track "Crimson" released with De Wolfe and later re-recorded under the title "Summer Romance" by the Brno Radio Orchestra for DI Music.
