Great! Thanks a lot A8, it's good to see you back.

I really appreciate your rips but probably missed a few. A wonderful thread indeed.

I'd be interested to know more about the high capacity, high-res music player you got.

This is the player I bought: h++ps://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C86RZMX8?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title. I chose it because it displays the album art as a large, bright image roughly 2" x 2" (5 cm x 5 cm). It takes up to 512GB SD cards. I used a 64GB card for all of the French Library albums I posted above. Plus, I added French Library CDs, French non-Library rips and some other music and podcasts and there is a tiny bit of space left over.

Nice. Congratulations. The market seems to be flooded with music players at the moment which makes it hard to choose one that meets the spec and doesn't have the usual one year built-in obsolescence one finds in a lot of Chinese products. A good price too. Amazon France is currently selling the same machine for $190.  >:(

Marvellous thread, A8detective! Thank you!

On the subject of music players, I have a 1st generation Fiio X5 which takes two 256GB cards, and I like it very much. OK the image screen is small, but that doesn't matter to me. I also have a Fiio X1 which I take with me when I'm travelling. it's smaller and lighter and I just have my favourites on it. Third and last I have another Fiio X1 which has a single folder on it with over 2000 tunes that play at random!
