Last unknown WWF wrestling tracks
« on: February 20, 2024, 12:29:38 PM »
This is it, these are the last wrestling tracks I'm after, (other unknown ones have already been posted multiple times, this is the last batch I'll be posting).

If anyone knows the names and better yet has mp3 or lossless versions available to download for any of these it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!

The ninth track is from Firstcom

But they've been discontinued.

You can't listen to them.

Here's the album synopsis

Here are the albums I have in MP3 quality, hopefully you can find it yourself and make new discoveries!

The seventh piece of music.

Also from the discontinued Firstcom album.

I know some of you on this forum have a WAV of this album.

FC-A46

Unfortunately, I only have the MP3.

The eighth piece of music.

I think it's from Musique Cinema Television.

Also out of production.

But a lot of the music in that genre is similar in style.

So I suggest you listen to it to see if it's something you've released.

I think those are the only sources I know.

The others sound so sonically bad or similar that I can't be sure.

Hopefully others on the forum can help.

It's killing me that so many of these have been identified through the months, but not your/my holy grail one (and the potential Jim Johnston cue used for the Bret/Backlund Survivor Series recap).  Might be destined to never ID those.

Sadly that's what it seems like. I tried everything I could to locate them, searching 100s of labels, 1,000s of songs throughout the years, emailing labels, artists, even WWF video producers/editors etc...No luck.

I do have my theories though. There are 5 really good tracks missing. I know the WWF and WCW used a very obscure French label called "Magazine Records". They were distributed in America through "Promusic" (https://productionmusic.fandom.com/wiki/Promusic). So WWF and WCW must have used them to see if they could get some interesting tracks from some foreign labels they otherwise would not have known about to enhance their video productions. We know both promotions scoured through a ton of labels. We know alot of users here have gone through so many labels and tracks...so how could they still be missing?

Well, my guess is if they're not from the usual suspects like a discontinued FirstCom or Chappell/AV album...that it's from one of the missing/discontinued whole labels from Promusic. I'm thinking it might be from one of these French labels, 80s and 90s albums -

Amplitude
Justement Music
Mondiophone
Sonimage
Epervier

Sadly no one has the Drama/Action/Suspense albums from these labels (80s to 90s years). It's in the archives of Universal Music Group or someone else, who knows? Could be a couple of other obscure labels as well that were on Promusic, but these 5 had a sound profile that could match the 5 missing tracks. It would explain why even the guys with huge collections on here can't find them, since they don't even have access to these labels. If not, then it's from FirstCom/Chappell, but that's the best I could come up with...

1 - https://vocaroo.com/110skE3M3Jc5 - probably from one of those discontinued French labels
2 - https://vocaroo.com/19J1W1FjioRR - could be discontinued FirstCom or Chappell, NFL also used this track...It's from 1993 and older
3 - https://vocaroo.com/15MOOf5qhpYr - probably from one of those discontinued French labels, sounds similar to the 1st track in its dramatic style
4 - https://vocaroo.com/17fB1DI5lcsM - probably from one of those discontinued French labels, sounds like it's from the same album as the 3rd track
5 - https://vocaroo.com/1kpdX8GVSsrB - probably from one of those discontinued French labels, intro sounds similar to the 3rd track, could be from that same album

I found an interesting phenomenon

In LTM

When searching for unknown music, 30% is WWE and 30% is F1 racing.

The remaining 40% is a mix of everything, some of which is news, some of which is soap operas, and some of which is commercials.

And what interested me was the library music used by my national TV station, CCTV

That's a very exhaustive and commendable search.  I remember accessing Magazine Records' site when it was still active.  That's where Evil Eye came from; a track that WWE used very frequently, and one that took a while to be ID'd.  I know I listened to the other tracks on that disc at the time, but didn't recognize any other tracks.

And regarding the phenomenon, I guess that means WWE knows how to pick 'em, ha.  Enough that they've made quite the lasting impression on lots of people with their music choices.

WWF used Evil Eye + Dracula, Drizzle, Gloomy and Rainbow...And they used these tracks from Dramatic Horror Vol. 1 for years during the Attitude Era.

Yes, they did choose very memorable tracks...Like you said, we're still talking about them all these years later.
