Are any of the tracks on this tape available anywhere? I've bought a large amount of material by Orchestr Studio Brno and Gustav Brom, but none of the material from this tape has so far surfaced.

I have a one line reference to the tape in a spreadsheet I downloaded a while back but no cue sheet. All I have is that it featured on BBC Ceefax on both BBC1 and BBC2 from September and June 1986 respectively. Does anyone have the cue sheet?

Thanks Tony. I now find I had it all the time but the search thingy in my Finder (Apple equiv to Win Explorer) hadn't picked it up.

Anyway I'm pretty sure the "Bruno Orchestra" is actually the Brno Radio Orchestra from what was then Czechoslovakia. However I also see that the publisher was Fay Gibbs and it is well known that, for some reason, they retitled all of the tracks they owned. So it may well be that, bardwell64, you have the tracks that made up this tape just with different titles. Not very helpful I know but unless there is an off-air copy of this tape which could be compared to the tracks you have the only clues as to which track is which will come from the composer names and the duration on the cue sheet I'd have thought.

The cue sheet is reasonably accurate, unusually - the composer details are genuine, and some (if not all) of the track titles are approxmiate translations from the original Czech.

The ''Bruno Orchestra' the tape is credited to is a mix of the Orchestr Studio Brno, the Prague Radio Dance Orchestra and TOČR (the Dance Orchestra of Czecholsovak Radio in Bratislava), at least on the tracks we know about.

The only problem with the cue sheet is that the tracks may be in the wrong order - the track 'Good Days' (original title 'Ceka Nas Dobry Den', composer Kamil Hala, performed by Prague Radio Dance Orchestra) is actually track 8!

Re the "GOOD DAYS" BBC Trade Test Ceefax tape and many others.
We do have good copies of all these tapes. But, for copyright reasons you have to me a Member of the Test Card Circle to enjoy these. It is only £25 a year. You get 4 professional quality magazines each year, two Conventions every year, access to TCC Private Streams and Music. A Facebook discussion page. Recognised by the BBC. Our Patron is Alan Dedicoat who comes to the Conventions. So well worth joining if you are not already a member. Full details here at the TCC Website: -

Unfortunately I do not have any tracks from this tape despite having lots of material from Orchestr Studio Brno, Gustav Brom, Josef Vobruba, and others. It's all available at very reasonable prices from 7digital, and in flac format.

Are you talking about this music? :D

English is not my mother tongue, so there are often mistakes in writing. Please forgive me. I will try to improve.

Yes, that's the track we know as 'Good Days' - but it's not actually 'Good Days' at all!  The real title will be somewhere on the cue sheet - but which one it is I don't know!   :)

Congratulations TwilightBreak1990! I also recently succumbed. I recommend the TCC membership for anyone who's interested in the history of the test card and the music that accompanies it. It's not exclusively for UK residents. There are many members who live overseas including myself. Annual membership is £30 for UK residents and £42 for overseas members. Alan Dedicoat, by the way, is the voice behind "the judges' scores are in" on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.
