50 more tracks left and the best places to search are the KPM 1000 Series, Ultra Music Services, Capitol Hi-Q/Media Music, Conroy, De Wolfe, JW Theme Music, Impress, Audio, Southern Library of Recorded Music, Standard Music Library and Studio G.

And there's two other labels that I have not searched through thoroughly: Boosey & Hawkes and Harmonic Mood Music Library, as they were distributed by Emil Ascher back in the day.

*BUMP* after over a month!

Found a track from the Impress library that plays in "Jack and the Beanstalk" from 3 Fairy Tale Classics: "Bustling Bassoon" by Ronald Hanmer from IA 345, played back 6 semitones lower.

I assume there may be more JW/Impress/Audio tracks sourced from tape. Played back the track and corrected it as 7 semitones lower.

*BUMP*

Last two tracks from The Puppy Who Couldn't Remember were sourced from the Audio BMP 109 album.

puppyremember_1 - Cat Burglars by Vincent Holland [BMP 109]

puppyremember_4 - Horse Nobblers by Vincent Holland [BMP 109]

There is a lot of missing tracks possibly coming from the JW Theme Music library and its sub-labels. I listened to those samples. Found the matches.

I think we should all be thankful for all that he has done to preserve these lost library albums in order to bring their tracks to light for the sake of making music identification so much easier. With all the new rips of Conroy and Audio BMP albums around, it helps narrow things down, so that we know which labels were used from a particular library distributor from the time the videos were produced (mid-1980s). The now-defunct Emil Ascher, Inc., was used in addition to the newer at the time APM Music, so there were a lot of archival tracks as far back as the 1960s being used aside from the more modern cues from recent library releases.

Not much of an update, but from what I've noticed going through the Parry vinyl catalogue, there's an old instrumental folk song called "Kent's Jig", which appears to be in a different arrangement than one of eight unknown tracks in "The Elves and the Shoemaker" from Favorite Fairy Tales:

Does anybody know the name of the library album that contains the older recording of this song, as heard in "The Elves and the Shoemaker"? (play the file "elves6" in Dropbox folder to compare with the above video)

Many thanks appreciated!

And, by the way, Greta, this kind of music may be up your alley, but I'm not sure if you know the original track off-hand. (No pressure if you don't!) I've also recently heard another rendition of the same melody as "Kent's Jig" and the one in "Elves and the Shoemaker" called "Revelrie" by Kevin Peek from Hudson HMCS/LP 540 "Hello and Good Morning", but I doubt it's that name either. I tried to do an advanced search on that title and "Kent's Jig" on Discogs, but couldn't find any other library albums with different recordings of those tracks. Not sure if it's from Southern Library of Recorded Music (MQ/LP catalog or Peer International), Mondiophone, Chappell (LPC catalog), or from Happy Records.

kablamatic might have pinpointed a missing De Wolfe track from the Merry Mother Goose video.

"I think DWS/LP 3489 - Cuts for Commercials Volume 4 might have one of the last unknown tracks in "Merry Mother Goose Rhymes & Stories" (the Dr. Foster segment). I downloaded one of the albums, in which their tracks were re-issued on the "Novelty And Comedy" section of this album, but couldn't match the track, so I've narrowed the tracks down to
"Topside Up" by John Saunders, since he is credited for composing songs for what I believe to be his group, Astral Sounds, on the albums "Slipstream" (DWS/LP 3393)."

"The modern electronic instrumentation matches that of the music style, though some of the tracks, "Spink" and "Pongle" (both re-issued on Cuts For Commercials Vol. 4) did not come as close to what was used in "Merry Mother Goose"."

"Plus, the rendition of "Jingle Bells" used in the video was also re-issued on Cuts For Commercial Vol. 4, so that's why I also think this album may have been utilized for the soundtrack."

DWS/LP 3489 has not been digitized yet.

Just to narrow things down for "Merry Mother Goose", I've identified "mmg2" as a sound effect from the Sound Ideas 1000 library: TIMPANI - BEAT AND ROLL, MUSIC, PERCUSSION, DRUMS 01

Take a listen: download.audiohero.com/track/14483519

And if anyone does have DWS/LP 3489 - Cuts for Commercials Volume 4 on hand, can you check if this last unknown track from Merry Mother Goose Rhymes & Stories is from that album or a different De Wolfe album?: hxxps://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ba5fiwynjilu8h60e6jsi/mmg11.wav?rlkey=ebw0xf85cuzckwuryflwb4hmh&st=ax8svroh&dl=0

Thank you!

Curious question but exactly how many tracks are left to identify?

Identified "he_man_demons2" as a combination of three tracks from KPM 1102 "Electrosound": "Slow Song", "Industrial Jungle", and "U.F.O." by Ron Geesin.
