You literally just have to look up the real letter from their counterpart in the next line.
MrDonut even used a monospace font so you can literally move your mouse cursor/finger on the "fake" over to the "real" alphabet.

YJDXLWUOASRFTKGNEICBHMZVPQyjdxlwuoasrftkgneicbhmzvpq5709184236
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789

Fake alphabet ("encrypted") = D and 2
Actual alphabet ("decrypted") = C and 7

Or in the case of his address: obbnc://pixeldrain.com/u/UqyPifD1

What is OBBNC?

YJDXLWUOASRFTKGNEICBHMZVPQyjdxlwuoasrftkgneicbhmzvpq5709184236
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789

H T T P S

To be fair, some websites and share forums use code64 and similiar things to de- and encrypt things, and that is what I thought for a moment too until I figured out the adress to be "P...I...X....E..." and then I knew what I had to do. But then, I watch Russian movies and when I see a name like "Alexandr" in cyrillic, you start to get a sense of "replace letter X with Y".

I'm a bit out of the loop here. Why do so many obfuscate the URLs?

I can't speak to the more recent trend for more elaborate obfuscation, but the much longer tradition of simpler obfuscation such as changing https to hXXps is to avoid people arriving at the files from a clickable link from here, which could be traced back to here and attract unwanted attention.

To be fair, and I don't want to cut into that topic too deep, but I think if we want all that, we should support him financially better. The investments - money and time - are massive and even with some donations here and there, it's still just dripple feeding. I am also sure he sees the amount of accesses and gets almost nothing back in return, the incentive is very low.

I see that the vast majority of the users here do it for free and all, but people are different. The appreciation needed to keep going varies individually. I am also a person that wants a certain amount of appreciation - more than a soul-less one-liner in a forum for example - if you want me to keep going in a steady way.

In general, I wish I could help more with the exotic stuff, but since I collect only on a track-basis, buying a whole disk for 100€ is out of any relation. And collectors needing a whole library of these, shelling out $1000+ and ripping, tagging them just to people silently grab it and me donating a tenner here and there is far from awesome.

The lost CDs are available for purchase at

One album for $40, two albums for $30, four albums for $96

I purchased 8 albums from this site, all of which were lost by Retromatic, and I gave them to him via private message. This is my way of giving back to him, and I think you can do the same.

Also, sorry for begging, but i need some albums that are missing, and some tracks that are discontinued. For example, this is a Sound Ideas' Music Catalog from 1988-1991. Here is the link for this catalog:

Indeed, I have not contributed with donations. I don't have money for it. But I have a well-known channel for 10 years, with 9,960 subscribers, and I dedicate myself to sharing themes used in soap operas and other programs. I don't know if I can help Retromatic with diffusion, but if so, I could even make incidental restorations or divertimenti with scenes where the music he gets was not used (I call 'incidental divertimenti' to remusicalize something with themes that were not originally used in a scene). I can't donate, but everything on my blog, YouTube channel and Facebook group is shared for free because, in most cases, that's how it was obtained. Just last night I made this video where I mention and thank Retromatic and this great forum.

In my opinion, $40 for one album at this time is expensive.

Don't get it wrong, previously, I like to spend some of my money to buy some royalty-free tracks, including Sound Ideas, in digital download only. But since 2020 until now, $40 can help me and my family to pay the bills and have a great meal at home instead of going to the restaurant or having a take-out, not even thinking of any royalty-free music on my wishlist.
