The track is still being searched for by both fans of the show, fans of the SBT network, and TV themes enthusiasts in general, but the effort is largely uncoordinated at this point.

I did my own research, collecting and identifying over 1,000 tracks used by the network from vintage 1981-1999 off-air TV recordings. They used mostly commercial music, with occasional library tracks.

Based on the library music I tracked them using, they only used scattered selections from U.S.-distributed labels. I think that until 1995, they had limited access to library music and even used demo CDs as sources. The Signature label tracks you helped identify were used in a single promo in 1993.

I personally think that the Chapolin BGM track was sourced from a non-musical source. It was probably clipped from another TV show soundtrack, movie, or cartoon with its own score. However, my research does not support this theory as a general practice of the network.

This research also resulted in a large number of unidentified tracks exclusive to this network. I often post them here on track IDs, but only the ones that actually sound like library music. Here is a 14 minutes long compilation of those tracks for anyone interested.

It turns out the source was still unknown. I had always assumed that the source was the cassette tape “SIDE B 8 - Carnivalesque (Fun Polka)” that “Yohanes Salomo” mentioned a while back, but it turns out that wasn’t the case.
