I see what you mean, but right away I'd say that the photo itself is real. There are some strange artifacts in the top part of the cover though, perhaps due to the compression of the jpg.

That photo is definitely photoshopped in my opinion. Apart from the perspective of the EMI REDD.37 desk being completely wrong, what would A.R. Luciani be doing at Abbey Road in London? Also, the the rest of the room doesn’t seem to match how the studios looked at Abbey Road back then. Tape recorders were never in the control room but in an adjacent machine room. Geeky post, I know!  :-[

Cinedelic managed just fine to get hold of a contemporary photo for their reissue of "Inchiesta sul mondo", so... did these guys not ask for one, or did they not do a whole lot of research here? I'm leaning towards the latter, along with the typos in the liner notes ("RIA"?).
