Library music on Santa Barbara (1984-1985)?
« on: October 12, 2019, 09:56:24 PM »
Hello all,
In the 1984-1985 period, the TV series Santa Barbara (NBC) used a lot of music library pieces. Later on, the show's own composers took over. I have managed to track down a great many of the early music on LP's from the Bruton, KPM, Peer and Capitol labels. The result of my queste has been published on a French fan site:

There are still many compositions left of which I expect they are from production libraries. Maybe anyone of you recognizes some of the tunes?

I totally hate dropbox. Doesn't work for me on the computer I use regularly. Can you upload these to one of the regular servers we all use?

12, 13 and 14 are the same clip...so ya may have left something out there. But sadly, can't ID any of em (though I would have ID'd #15 if someone else didn't first lol). The late 70's/early 80's ones though are some real gems. Hope you can eventually ID em.

Sounds a bit Keith Mansfield-ish. Anyone an idea?

That 2nd one almost sounded like a more Rock/Funk based version of Larry Owens "Ladies Man" from Network Music. I know the Network late 70's through mid 80's catalog pretty well but I don't recall this one. But it may be on one of the Network LP's in that time frame.

The 1st one no clue, but it sounded more Brian Bennett like to me. Sorry I couldn't be of help on these, but maybe the Network thing could be a lead on the 2nd one for ya.
