This record remains the property of the Clyde Music Library and must be surrendered in the event of any breach of the conditions agreed with the Musicians' Union covering the recording of library music and its use on radio in the UK.
The specific uses of the library at present agreed with the MU are as follows:
1. On UK Radio, but not as accompaniment to vocals or featured programme content.
2. In advertising commercials on radio where the music is background only and is in no way featured.
3. The library shall not be used to provide feature music where by custom and practice, this is normally either performed live or specially recorded.
4. Items recorded on these records may only be broadcast between the hours of midnight and 6 a.m.
Any change in the above conditions agreed with the Musicians' Union will be (?) to all user companies immediately.

It has been a belief for some time at Radio Clyde that there was a need for somebody to provide a series of high quality "in house" recordings for use by the radio stations within the I.L.R. network, and after much deliberation the "Clyde Music Library" was born.
The aim of the "Library" is to provide on record, a substantial and regular flow of good music, which is excellenelty orchestrated, performed and recorded by the finest musicians and technicians available in the United Kingdom today for the purpose of augmenting the musical output of the ever increasing number of stations in the I.L.R. system.
And so to "The Start of Something Big", a fitting title for the launch of our library recordings by the newly formed Radio Clyde Big Band with featured vocalist Danny Street.
Danny is a member of that exclusive band of highly professional session singers whose voices are familiar to almost everyone. A Scot - he moved to London some years ago and now spends most of his professional life in recording studios, providing voices for advertising jingles for commercial radio and television and also providing vocal backing for commercial recordings by well known artists.
Danny's first love, is performing the great standards with a big band, and when the orchestrations are by Adrian Droer and Pete Smith, two of the most talented arrangers around, the result has to be "The Start of Something Big".

The second album by The Radio Clyde Big Band, "All Time Greats" was compiled and arranged by Musical Director Adrian Drover, who, not surprisingly claims that his first musical love is big band jazz. His selection from the unforgettable sounds of the great bands, takes us through the 20's into the 40's with some of the more popular hits of that era.
Adrian, a Londoner, was introduced to the world of music by his father, a Grenadier Guardsman who taught him from an early age to play cornet. At the age of eleven he joined the Duke of York's Military School and played with the school band for five years.
A multi-instrumentalist, Adrian taught himself not only to play saxophone, clarinet and oboe but to arrange music for the various combinations with which he played in theatres and dance halls. It was during this period that he began to play trombone, his favourite instrument. His big break arrived in 1969 when he was asked to join the Maynard Ferguson Band as bass trombonist and it was Adrian's arrangement of Jim Webb's song "MacArthur Park" which won international acclaim for the arranger and the band, leading directly to three American tours. Adrian settled in Glasgow in 1974 and since that time has gone from strength to strength as an arranger for radio and television, at home and abroad, as you will realise when The Radio Clyde Big Band, under his direction, play some of the 'all time greats' which swept through ballrooms around the world, breaking box office records and selling literally millions of discs.

The versatile "Nightlife Orchestra" has to date appeared in many guises.
For this second album of Pop Classics, the orchestra has endorsed the view that "small is beautiful" by reducing its instrumental resources to an aggregation consisting of rhythm section, 2 trumpets, 2 trombones and percussion.
The task of selection and arranring of the material for the album was given to five different well-known and talented arrangers. Adrian Drover, Dave Pringle and Nick Ingman are already known to users of the Clyde Music Library, but now we introduce two new names. Firstly, Andy Park who's innovatory style has made him a household name in the world of music, and secondly, Iain McHaffie, guitarist, arranger and Musical Director who has for many years been an important part of the music scene in Scotland.
The songs chosen by our arrangers to display their various talent are among the greatest to emerge during the 70's starting with STANDING ON THE INSIDE, written and recorded by Neil Sedaka. Another song recorded by Neil Sedaka, but possibly better known through the version by the Captain and Tennille is LOVE WILL KEEP US TOGETHER. Barry Manilow hits also appear - MANDY arranged by Dave Pringle and I WRITE THE SONGS arranged by Adrian Drover. Andy Park is the arranger for the Gallagher & Lyle classic I WANNA STAY WITH YOU and the 1970 hit for David Gates and Bread, MAKE IT WITH YOU, whilst Ian McHaffie is the arranger for TOUCH ME IN THE MORNING, previously recorded by Diana Ross and the song which was a 10 week No. 1 for David Essex - HOLD ME CLOSE.

The Radio Clyde Big band explores the world of the TV police series in this selection of famous theme tunes.
Without a doubt the theme tune is a most important part of any programme, whether on radio or television. Not only does it set the scene and establish the mood, but the right theme tune can create as much of the identity of a programme as can the characters. The titles on this album - all selected and arranged by Adrian Drover - must surely fall into that category.
