Here's one of my all-time favorite records - evocative acoustic/ambient industrial sketches with a universal theme. Would like to know more about M.T. Luciani, does she play guitar on this album? I have read before that she worked in collaboration with her more famous brother, Antonino, but more detail about their work together would be nice. This rip I found was a bit scratchy and ran too fast in speed, so I applied click/crackle removal and some speed adjustment.

Thank you for this adjusted version tezeta.
And yes, I absolutely second your request of a lossless rip of LMR 1255 Free Jazz, which is a stunning record.

You're very welcome. So glad to hear you're a fan of that one, too. Really funky jazz, like an even more psychedelic follow-up to the super cool Jazz in Liberta album by A.R. Luciani.

An album more in this style is one of the other two credited to her, Sounds of the City - an amazing record as well, though I think might like this one just a bit more - also in collaboration with her brother in that same year, 1972. It was reissued by Finders Keepers last year. Would be nice to own the LP, but for some reason they changed the tracklisting - I much prefer the original one. The sleeve notes don't tell you much at all, either.

Strangely, the streaming version of the new release has the original LP's track order, but the titles are wrongly applied to follow the tracklist of new edition...  :o

Bumping for those who haven't seen/heard this yet and in the hopes that someone might be able to provide a lossless rip of LMR 1255, Free Jazz.

"Free Jazz" was reissued 2016 by the fine folks at Cinedelic Records, and is still in print. It sounds great! You can order a copy here:

As said before, I would have bought this instantly when it was released if it had been available to download (in lossless quality). Hopefully, the vinyl only tendency will pass soon.

I have to agree with you there. I find it all a bit... what's that word again? Oh yeah, classist. :)

Thank you, Tezeta!

My pleasure! IMO, one of the best records ever, a masterpiece of abstract music.

Many thanks

It's my pleasure to share such unusual and fantastic music.

Here's the titles translated to English, to give those who don't speak Italian some idea of the themes present:

"Resignation of the Third World"
"Rebellion of the Third World"
"The War Is Near"
"Class Hatred"
"Indigenous Village"
"Languages of the Third World"
"Famine"
"Industrial Exploitation"
"Tension Between Peoples"
"Millennial Slavery"

... Such a beautiful and evocative set of pieces. I think I may like this one just as much as Suoni di una citta! Does anyone have any biographical info at all on M.T. Luciani? I've found none yet.

Thanks so much for sharing this record, tezeta.  It was the perfect late-night listen here in the still darkness. Just superb.  Glad I'm having the opportunity to experience these rare treats.

By the way, does your name come from the Ethio-Armenian word?

Cheers,
wf

Maria Teresa Luciani is A. Riccardo Luciani's sister. She was only ever credited for these library cues, and I see it as very likely that A. Riccardo Luciani was actually behind them. Crediting family members/friends wasn't that unusual in Italy, and I believe it was quite favorable tax-wise. You'll find similar things with Piero Umiliani, who credited cues to his two daughters Elisabetta and Alessandra, Franco Zauli who registered some cues to his wife(?) Emanuela, Amedeo Tommasi to his wife Silva, etc.
Of course - as per usual, there is little actual information about these at all, and one can only speculate. They might have actually been composed by the family members.
