Having tried all day to log in and being faced with a fluffy dog (thanks Mr!) I'm now faced with a completely new interface. Thanks to everyone for this. I know it'll please a number of fellow members who have raised this in the past. Trouble is I need to findmy way around it, ha, ha.

I used to use the "Recent Posts" page as my default for LMT. It saved me from having to plough through the various topics individually to see which one had been updated. Is that available now? Only I can't seem to find it.

Mr

Welcome back - this theme is not final, and might be updated a bit in the coming days. I'll try my best to retain the original format and functions to the extent that is possible.

I really liked the vinyl picture in the background, could we perhaps bring it back?
Otherwise, I like the new layout!

It would be nice if we could switch to a light themed variant of this theme though.

What the!? Man! Never seen the upgrade of this famous library music website before! :D

Honestly I kinda like the old one, but I like this one. But honestly, I do like both the old one and the new one, but I gotta say that, the new one looks like a fresh start of this chapter. :D

action=recent is still available and can be accessed here

I find the beginning and ending of each message were much cleaner in the previous version, but I am sure I'll get used to this new version

I did not expect this when vising the site. I like it, but this will definitely take a while to get used to.

A suggestion with regard to usability:

Just yesterday I read a long article on Substack of an author who chooses white script on dark blue. That became somewhat unpleasant after a while, and I printed it to PDF in simplified mode (black script on white) to finish.

Meaning: light script on a dark background is slightly irritating for some people, perhaps even for many, as physiological aspects of visual perception play a role here. It produces a sort of glare around and inside letters, particularly if your visual acuity is imperfect, as with astigmatism, for example.

Would it be possible to allow users to switch between a light and a dark mode?

I think there are Simple Machines themes offering that option. This one, for example, very similar to the one in use right now. There are also others.

I actually run some of my most oft-used programs in dark mode, the music player, for example. I like that! But for the purpose of reading and writing it may not be optimal.

Mr

As mentioned above, the theme will likely be modified a bit in the coming days.

This is the exact theme that is currently installed. You can toggle between light/dark mode on the main page - just click the moon logo in the top bar.

Great!
Also thanks for adding the background image back... ;D

Yeehah! I swear I did look for the toggle button, but couldn't find one. Perfect, thanks.
