Many thanks uviol! But I prefer the Rocco's version. (BW 13078)

I agree with you, but I'm looking for the original version (48 kHz, 16-bit) by any chance, do you happen to have it? Thanks in advance, and I'm really sorry for the trouble caused by my persistence.

Sh*t! I didn't realize this is some kind of messed-up, reconverted version, sorry about that! I don't know where I got this from, but anyway, it seems that i found the original, this one should be the right one, so i'll delete the other one!

Although there are no covers for this one either, which is strange to me because Rocco usually includes them, but the audio files seems fine ! In any case, let me know if something isn't right!

... this is some kind of messed-up, reconverted version ...

Thank you for providing the original files.

But the 16-bit, 44.1 kHz files were OK, too. They indeed seem to be downsampled from Rocco's 48 kHz rip. Doing this is unproblematic. As long as you only reduce (not increase) sampling frequency and bit depth or keep them the same, you can convert lossless audio between lossless codecs as many times as you want. The (perceived) sonic quality is going to remain unaffected.

A 24-bit, 192 kHz recording and its conversion to 16 bits and 44.1 kHz sound exactly the same if played back on the same reproduction system. 16 bits result in a bit more noise, but I doubt that it's perceivable. Even if: any record you play will bring you a lot more noise.

All that does not mean that high-resolution files were useless. I like them because they show the quality of the ripping setup used (record player, A/D converter). Any frequencies above 20-22 kHz are not encoded in the phonographic (vinyl) record but produced by the record player. They are overtones coming from the player because it vibrates when you play a record with it. The fraction of these overtones that is below 20-22 kHz is also one reason why different players sound differently for the same record.
