[CDRE 1315] Claudio Gizzi, Bruno Lauzi, Romolo Forlai - Antologia (1992)

Here are the FLAC files:
mega.nz/file/DHJB3KBA#W6cT3MLMlfMLZvD0m-KA-AgYhVpsvef8GED8q10mnZU

Enjoy!

P.S. Three tracks of this CD are also included in the "NRE 1141" 1988 vinyl "Strumentali: Fogli di diario" (https://librarymusicthemes.com/index.php?topic=11954).

Hello glossybrickwall,
I've decided to respond to you on this thread only, cause is one of the few containing a genuine flac rip. For which I thank you cause I didn't have it and it's great to listen to it.

As for all the other shares of yours, I just don't understand.
I mean, you say "personal remaster ", "high quality" or else, but in the facts they're almost all upscaled mp3.
The only genuine flacs I've seen are this same CDRE 1315, the two Cielo Archival and the Music Scene MSE 147.
Did you know that?

Sharing and spreading lossy files disguised as lossless is just not good at all. Not everyone is able to recognize fake lossless, or some just trust the source and keep and re-share them as lossless.
The result is the net is flooded by fakes, and as LMT is quite a popular site around, we contribute in a significant way to this. Not good at all.

Not saying you can not post these rips but that you should declare the actual quality of your shares, and convert the fake flacs to mp3 before sharing.

That said, I also thank you for the NRE 1141 and the Jump DP 79, cause I never heard them, and even if they're upscaled mp3, they're always something new to me.

PS

Not sure actually, about NRE 1141 and AIR-PM 104, the two you stated you had by your chap Digitrack as new needledrops.
I think I remember Digitrack and the quality rips he shared here in the past. Is it possible that something went wrong in your remaster process of his needledrops?
And about it, if I may, can I ask you if it's possible to have the original Digitrack's needledrops of these two albums (NRE 1141 and AIR-PM 104)?
Cheers!

Hi, the source files found on the web are often lossy, and the results of the remastering works will never be 100% like the original lossless source due to audio manipulation, so I obviously convert everything to FLAC to avoid any further loss of quality.
Anyway, in the case of remastered tracks the perceived sound quality is way better than the source, so I don’t see what's the problem with that...
If you want to rely exclusively on the spectral graph then I can convert everything to MP3 or post the original unremastered tracks, but it would be a real shame for everyone's listening experience.
I'm not here to ruin the site's reputation, but to share stuff with the best audio quality possible.

Hello! Would anyone be willing to provide a link to:
CDRE 1315, [Cielo Archival] CA011 & CA012, MSE 147, NRE 1141, and the Jump DP 79

Seems the file owner (glossybrickwall? we5yt358jk?) somehow got spooked and deleted the files :)
Thank you, and no rush

Oh dear, this is a perfect example of a little knowledge being a dangerous thing. The fact that you have edited a lossy file and then saved it as FLAC does theoretically ensure that there is no loss of quality from the original. But in doing so you are also misleading people. On this forum it is understood that a FLAC file is by nature a lossless file. If the original is a lossy file then the lossy extension eg MP3 should continue to be used.

Personally I’d rather you shared any files unedited and in the format you receive them in.

So... converting a MP3 file to FLAC in an audio editing program such as Audacity is fake lossless?

I'm ashamed to remember that this was one of my beginnings here, wanting to make "contributions" with dirty files and humiliate an entire community of audiophiles, but I've changed, that's all in the past now.

I commend you on deleting the offending rips, but you apparently have also deleted the genuine ones, which may not have been necessary in all cases.

Let me suggest that you will profit from learning a bit about digital audio and its manipulation before trying to "remaster" stuff you find on the internet.

What you're presently doing is not remastering, the proper term is "clueless tampering".

Here are a few hints:

[...] the source files found on the web are often lossy, and the results of the remastering works will never be 100% like the original lossless source due to audio manipulation, so I obviously convert everything to FLAC to avoid any further loss of quality. [...]

-- Lossy audio files **cannot** be manipulated in the way you seem to believe. Really. Don't ever do it. To work with lossy files in an audio editor you need to convert them to PCM. After manipulation there is then no way to convert them to proper audio again. If you leave them as pure PCM (in a WAV file, for example), or if you compress them to FLAC or another of the many lossless audio formats, they turn into a deception. If you re-encode them into a lossy format the sonic result is even worse because then you have files that have been put through a lossy encoder twice.

(nidostar's statement

If the original is a lossy file then the lossy extension eg MP3 should continue to be used.

is incorrect in this point because lossy encoding of digital audio isn't idempotent. Meaning that if you do the following:

-- convert lossy file A to lossless file B,
-- lossless file B to lossy file C,
-- lossy file C to lossless file D,

and so on (or just lossy to lossy to lossy ...), you're going to end up with unrecognisable sound if you do it long enough.)

[...] in the case of remastered tracks the perceived sound quality is way better than the source [...]

-- Please understand that sound quality has rather little to do with the presence of clicks or noise. It is almost impossible to reduce the noise of a recording without affecting the music also contained in it. Particularly with the tools and the knowledge you have at your disposal at this point. One may **manually** remove pops and clicks, but never let a program do it for you automatically. It does not work. You almost certainly will do damage. Programs simply cannot properly distinguish between noise and music algorithmically. Music instruments produce noise, it's part of their sound. If you remove that noise, the sound will deteriorate.

[...] I can convert everything to MP3 or post the original unremastered tracks [...]

-- It bears repeating: never, ever convert digital audio files from lossy to lossless or vice versa. This includes importing a lossy file into Audacity (which converts it to -- lossless -- PCM).

Always post unaltered files in the state that you received them in. And do not try to "improve" them. It cannot be done in the way that you do it.

Believe me, I didn't mean that, and never had doubt about it.
Other chaps here can explain you the technical issues much better than me, my point was only to understand if you knew what you were doing and maybe find a better way together. Don't get me wrong.

Anyways, may I ask again if it's possible for you to share Digitrack's original needledrops of NRE 1141 and AIR-PM 104? It's possible that you applied very strong filters while remastering those files and I would like to hear how the originals sound like.
