What brings us here today is the soundtrack from the 1974 Thunderbird Films print of Nosferatu. Much of the appeal of this print comes from its usage of 50s/60s library music. You might even recognize some of the music from old James Rolfe (AVGN) videos and that seems to be a partial reason for the curiosity with this version's soundtrack. Whether or not the music truly 'fits' is debatable, but you can't deny it gives the film a unique kind of charm.

At least three different VHS releases used the Thunderbird print:

Kartes Home Video (most common)
Sinister Cinema
Grampa Presents/Vintage Video

The YouTube upload of the Kartes VHS linked at the bottom lists a couple cues and their timestamps under the video, which led me to find out that the majority of the soundtrack utilizes the Valentino/Major Records library with a few stings from the Capitol Hi-Q catalog thrown in occasionally.

I was painstakingly able to identify most of the cues which are listed below. There are 32 total not counting 3 getting reused. Order is the time frame from the YouTube upload, track title, artist, and Major Records catalog number the cue comes from:

00:41 to 02:21 - Mystery Opening, (Samuel Allen, 82) ** Theremin overdubbed at the beginning; the original cue doesn't have this **
02:22 to 03:58 - *** Unknown 'orchestral' cue ***
03:59 to 06:15 - Clock on the Wall, (Michael Reynolds, 80)
06:16 to 09:14 - Budding Romance, (Domenico Savino, 6007)
09:14 to 11:34 - Chains of Fate, (Michael Reynolds, 80)
11:34 to 14:47 - Nemesis, (George Chase, 64)
14:47 to 15:55 - Midnight Escape, (George Chase, 64)
15:56 to 18:40 - Spectre Castle, (George Chase, 64)
18:41 to 21:15 - Hebrew Poem, (George Chase, 87)
21:15 to 23:29 - Clock on the Wall, (Michael Reynolds, 80)
23:29 to 24:23 - Deadly Mysterioso 1, (Michael Reynolds, 76)
24:23 to 26:31 - Deadly Mysterioso 2, (Michael Reynolds, 76)
26:31 to 27:34 - *** Unknown 'eerie' cue ***
27:34 to 27:42 - Sting #24, (Dan Kirsten, Capitol Hi-Q Reel D-66)
27:42 to 27:46 - Sting #29, (Dan Kirsten, Capitol Hi-Q Reel D-66)
27:46 to 27:54 - Sting #28, (Dan Kirsten, Capitol Hi-Q Reel D-66)
27:54 to 29:58 - Chains of Fate, (Michael Reynolds, 80)
29:58 to 31:17 - End of the Line, (Rico Calle/Ralph Carmichael, 67)
31:17 to 34:15 - Mystery Island, (Michael Reynolds, 91)
34:15 to 37:22 - Treachery, (Roger Roger, 51)
37:22 to 39:46 - A Mysterious Night, (Roger Roger, 51)
39:46 to 39:53 - Sting #12, (Dan Kirsten, Capitol Hi-Q Reel D-65)
39:53 to 39:59 - Sting #13, (Dan Kirsten, Capitol Hi-Q Reel D-65)
39:59 to 40:05 - Sting #14, (Dan Kirsten, Capitol Hi-Q Reel D-65)
40:05 to 46:50 - Stars, (Nicolas Flagello, 6055)
46:50 to 50:12 - Seance, (Michael Reynolds, 85)
50:12 to 52:12 - Cosmic Ray, (Michael Reynolds, 71)
52:13 to 56:33 - The Search Beyond, (Michael Reynolds, 85)
56:34 to 57:20 - Attack No. 2, (Jorge Perez, 73)
57:20 to 57:37 - Moonscape, (Nicolas Flagello, 6055)
57:37 to 58:26 - Attack No. 2, (Jorge Perez, 73)
58:26 to 1:01:10 - Stratospheric Dream, (Roger Roger, 59)
1:01:10 to 1:01:33 - Spell of the Unknown, (Roger Roger, 59)
1:01:33 to 1:02:57 - Toward Discovery, (Roger Roger, 59)
1:02:57 to 1:03:55 - Andante Religioso, (George Chase, 87)

As you can see there are still two cues that remain unidentified. Odds are that they're from Valentino.

I've decided to post here rather than the Track ID section just because I'd rather have this be about the soundtrack in general. Even so, any assistance with the unknown cues would be appreciated!

Very interesting.  I can't ID either I'm afraid but do have some Valentino/Major LPs so if there are any you haven't checked that look possible, let us know as I may have it.  Many/most have been posted on here at some point too. There was a long Majot thread.
