Are Cassettes allowed here?
« on: Today at 02:54:29 AM »
As a Japanese music library collector, if it's rare, I'll take it.
I honestly don't care about the transcoded stuff (NO OFFENSE BWP!!) or lossy audio, if it is rare, I will take it.
So, when I reached out to a Japanese friend of mine (who also has a youtube channel with beautiful videos of cherry blossoms!) about his Teichiku BGM collection, he said he had volumes 16 - 25 on cassette. If you're not familiar with Teichiku BGM, volumes 16 and 19 are supposedly the two rarest albums in this series. I don't know anyone on this forum who owns those two.
So when my friend told me he'd do it, I accepted it.
In a few songs, the audio skips a little, but other than that, the cassette quality is pretty usual. I had him convert to WAV too, because that's what I like.
Since they're so rare, and it's a collection of 10 albums and 100 jam based and ambient tracks of all kind. I love these albums, and I'd love to share them with everyone.
But do people actually like cassette rips?
I'd love to know, as well as a moderator's viewpoint.
Thank you all!
Also, if you're following my website (you can visit it in the link below), I added a bunch of Studio Cutz albums you probably don't have to the USA section (yes, I actually did something to the USA section, you happy now!?), and most of them are from Retromatic! Huge thanks to Craig-UK for those! I also added some new stuff to the Japan section. Reminder that you can also download my own music library albums for free!!
The links won't last forever...!

Audio is audio, it's music. No matter what the original media was. Vinyls, cassettes, cd's, reel-to-reel tapes or else.
Then, if we discuss about quality, is a different story. Everyone has personal tastes and points of view, but a share is always welcome and appreciated.
