Retromatic rips...?
« on: March 08, 2026, 03:42:51 PM »
Hi everyone,
I apologize for making so many requests
But this one is important to me.
Me and a friend of mine have been working on a project.
The goal is to gain back all of the CD rips Retromatic posted here.
The first person we saw on the thread respond with something like "sounds great!" etc, we would message them, introducing myself and asking if they had downloaded the files to their computer or mobile device. Because if they had downloaded the files, the password is no longer present.
Some of you may have got a message from someone you don't know.. AKA me.
We're not forcing you into this either.
But if the files were once free, why shouldn't we still be able to get them for free.
I understand Musrc's website and I have no problem with having to buy a CD rip.
But if Retromatic had the need to generously share a collection of his CDs here for free, they should still be free.
So let me ask all of you:
Did you download any of Retromatic's files, and still have them?
If so, make a transfer it file or Pixeldrain.
I will take anything, but we're looking for a few specifics:
The MusicBase collection Vivid and Emotional
Sound Maker albums
eMu Wicked 2
Nakamura Tomoyashi
the whole Studio Cutz library

If you can help us achieve this goal, we'd greatly appreciate it!
Thank you, everyone,
DoctorDoodle19

Wicked 2 has been renamed as SOHO 179 Retro Grooves. The composer and track names are also different to the original release.

I’m not sure whether Soho have other EMU releases however, the above release is on their website.

Interesting idea,

but I'll share my perspective.

In LTM, I'd say 70% of people are more interested in albums released before the 80s—what we call vinyl records.

Retro Matic, however, is more passionate about collecting music libraries from around the 1990s.

This means that many of the things he shares simply don't interest a lot of people enough for them to bother downloading.

Even if someone has downloaded them, some people might keep the singles they like after listening, deleting the rest of the album entirely.

Of course, it's also possible that some people will keep the entire album—either in cloud storage or on their own computers.

If someone in LTM has stored these files and wants to help you, they'll need to go through a cumbersome upload process—and may even have to upgrade to a membership to increase their storage space.

Assuming all this is done, he still faces one final hurdle:

Retro Matic. Because if someone did this and Retro Matic found out, it would be awkward—it goes against his intentions.

Retro Matic is a genuinely good person. I admire his passion for collecting CDs. We often exchange CD rips, and his research into Music Library is profound. We hold mutual respect for each other.

So at the very least, I wouldn't do that (though I have stored some of his).

Because if I did that, I wouldn't know how to face him.

But if others wish to do so, that is their prerogative. Once they've weighed their options, I imagine they'll take action.

Wishing you success.

Thank you for your perspective.
I am not in any way needing these CDs now, it's just something I want.
So I will have patience, because out of the what, 1000 or so members here, I would bet around 40 of them downloaded the things I'm looking for from Retromatic, and 20 still have it downloaded, maybe only 5 are willing to share it with me, plus some of them may not even have been on LMT since.
So it's very particular, but I have hope something will happen soon.

Have any of you ever tried SoulSeek? You may find everything you're looking for there.
