Selected Sound - Please Love Me Again (1977):

a Selected Sound for tonight, and one of my favourites. they promise super hits and deliver. not really sure what's up with this, as a lot of the songs are commercially released. it starts out with a bang, 'Please Love Me Again' is amazing and instantly my favourite song on the record. this version of 'Stern von Afrika' is not favourite but still a great tune. 'O.K. Chicago' is nice and funky! 'This Is Music That I Like' is a great disco ender. very few low points on this release for me. even 'I Hear A Melody' is great, not the typical style i look for in library but it's catchy! easy choice here.

verdict: KEEP!

Title track is an classic disco-banger that always make me happy.

Most of the commercially available tracks are from Sirocco a label created by Roger Tokarz (who also created Tele Music), to capitalize on som of the more pop sounding tracks from TM. They are by french library musicians like Marc Chantereau, Pierre-Alain Dahan, Slim Pezin & Mat Camison

Selected Sound - Match-Ball (1981):

might be my favourite library record, this thing is amazing. the polish library stuff is always my favourite. Zbigniew Gorny and his orchestra really killed it. it's hard to imagine a more perfect song then 'Magma'. that minute long buildup intro, then dropping the funkiest damn thing i've ever heard. not far behind is the title track, then 'Oversea Flights', 'Newport' and 'Net Service'. all of them funky disco dreams. i bought this thing in 2014 for 6 euros, what bang for your buck, and it still looks to be as affordable as then. bury me with this record.

verdict: KEEP!
