« on: November 03, 2025, 06:52:38 PM »
Hello friends!

I've tried many options to identify this song, but I haven't been able to.

Could someone please help me identify the song in this video?

Thank you very much!

Damn I haven't heard that tune in years. It's "Super Came" by Jumbo. A non-library real obscure 7'' B-side cut from 1976.

Jumbo was a short lived German Disco/Pop studio group from 1976 - 1980 penned by Charles Orieux (who did some library stuff). They're most remembered here in the US for their disco hit "Turn On To Love". I was a fan back when. Got everything they released in my vinyl collection.

Really wanted to hear this tune in full again after all these years, so decided to dig the 45 out of the closet and do a lossless transfer to share here in case Sound Collector or anyone else wants it, since it's probably tough to find a rip on the internet.

First time in about 2 1/2 years i've ripped any vinyl too.

Fantastic!!!
Only someone who appreciates music with all their heart and soul can understand what I feel when listening to this work faithfully.
Perhaps it was quite simple for you to recognize and make this great file available.
Even so, I see that helping with this challenge brought you nostalgia.
You were very happy about it, and very, very grateful!
My gratitude is justified not only because I spent many months showing this music to various people without anyone knowing what it was about.
My gratitude is also justified because it is a beautiful instrumental work that touches the heart and that I really wanted to know about.
When music has great importance in our lives, small things make all the difference.
From time to time, mysteries like this arise, and we become restless in the hope of discovery.
Again, thank you very much, my noble friend, for providing me with the solution to this mystery and also for making this excellent quality copy available to us.
Health and good luck!
A big hug! Roger

Very glad I was able to help! I don't pop over here much like I used to, but when I do I always visit the track ID section on the odd chance I can help anyone ID their holy grails that no one else has been able to identify.

I'm not surprised that no one could identify the one because it is very obscure. As far as I know, was only released in 3 countries on the 7'' B-side of "Sexy Lady". Germany, Netherlands and here in the US. Was never on any LP anywhere. That record probably hasn't touched my turntable in decades till last night. Great tune indeed.

Only reason I knew it and had it was because I was a fan of Jumbo back in the day like I mentioned. Was actually shocked to hear it being used on TV somewhere in the world back then, and that someone here was looking for the tune. What country was that 1978 TV video clip from that used it? Curious.

My dear friend, your help was wonderful!
I want to apologize for the previous message;
I use a translator, and I noticed it wasn't entirely accurate.
I need to say again, I was very, very happy for this help!
I was also happy to realize that this work brought back good memories for you.
Another important thing I need to tell you is that the beautiful copy you provided was played countless times yesterday, causing this music to still be heard subconsciously today.
Now, speaking of this music, when you say it's an obscure track, that's very accurate.
It was a mystery even to experienced collectors I know.
Simply put, no one knew anything about it.
Some people even suggested that perhaps it was a production of the TV station itself that used it for its video.
I had the impression that this couldn't be the case.
This music had something special and different about it.
It has such a well-arranged set of violins and a melody that really resembled something like a typically European orchestral production.
Something like James Last or Bert Kaempfert...
Therefore, when you explained that it was from a German group, then yes, it made perfect sense.
I really sensed something like these German experiments.
Now, regarding the video;
This video was produced in the late 1970s.
I wouldn't know if it was actually '78, I believe so, but that may not be correct.
This video belongs to Rede Globo television.
A large Brazilian media group.
It narrates the end of broadcasting activities in the early morning hours, a farewell.
This same voice narration was recorded with several other songs at that time.
Globo is the largest TV company in Latin America and one of the largest in the world.
Its production capacity is only paralleled by the major Hollywood film studios.
This large structure and power is a source of controversy here in Brazil, as it is not in line with our market.
There are many documents that deal with large amounts of investment originating abroad.
But that's another matter...
The fact is that this great production capacity could indeed justify the creation of something like this.
For many years, there were extremely high-quality musical productions signed by Globo. Globo, as a company, had many resources that shaped the musical perception of Brazilians: radio stations, newspapers, TV, film production, graphic design, and many other resources.
One example of these was the popular label (Som Livre), which had considerable longevity and produced and distributed a vast range of productions that shone on Globo's stages.
In this way, Globo could count on several associated orchestras and musical groups that met its own needs.
For this reason, I came to think it was reasonable to assume that it was indeed something produced internally.
But German brilliance and genius are unparalleled and perceptible.
This music has a genuinely German DNA.
When you explained the origin, incredibly, this came to me as a confirmation!
I am an enthusiastic admirer and collector of great orchestras, especially European ones!
This is why I'm here in this space.
I'm very grateful to have been accepted into this community.
I'm flattered by this, because I recognize that the most interesting and knowledgeable music experts flock to this environment.
Being among such people is wonderful!
It's a rich source of musical culture.
I really have a lot to thank you for in particular!
It is people like you who willingly do the noble favor of clarifying, contextualizing, and making known fragments of a wonderful culture.
I am here to learn, for I see that I am very small in comparison to you.
Therefore, I will always try to maintain the humility of a learner.
I want to take this opportunity to enrich my musical culture and, as far as possible, also give back in some way I can.
I already have a new challenge;
I want to analyze it better before publishing it.
I understand that I should not saturate this space with any personal desires that are irrelevant to the whole.
I recognize that something posted here triggers a whole activity of searching and interest that should not be misused.
Therefore, I will analyze it very carefully, and in the coming days I intend to bring you another challenge that I sincerely believe is worth your dedication.
My dear new friend, once again, my sincere gratitude!
I apologize for the length of this text, but I prefer to err on the side of excess rather than deficiency.
I thank you for myself and for others who benefit from your willingness and goodwill!
I am grateful to you and to this beautiful community of noble music lovers!
Big Hug!
Health and good luck!
Roger
