May-Loo / Loose / Capitol?
« on: September 28, 2025, 09:20:25 AM »
Hi! Can somebody help me with this one?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Owb3LHmeddmG9IjlqMXMdJLUXZF4gO7V/view?usp=sharing

The music has been cut straight from the adult movie "Blonde Fire" (1978) and I've been trying to identify it for years.
In the end credits, it simply says "Music: May-Loo Music" so I assume the music comes from the Capitol and maybe from the Hi-"Q" Series.

The closest one that has the same vibe has been this Exterior Scene 4 from M-125/M-126.

Please, somebody must know more than me! Thank you very much!

Bill Loose did a handful of original music scores for adult films in the late 70's and early 80's. This was one of them. He was also one of the very few that had the balls to put his real name or publishing company on the credits.

Sometimes he would "recycle" older music selections from other non-adult projects and put them in the X films combined with the fresh material if budget was low (much like my good pal Dick Hieronymus did when he scored X films on limited budget back in the same era).

But with this film being directed by Bob Chinn who usually worked on the good budget ones, it may be an original piece that doesn't exist outside of the film music session reels in a vault somewhere.

However, you never know. Loose had been known to licence stuff to libraries back then from his original nature documentary scores, so maybe this tune could be sitting in one of the long lost obscure libraries he delt with, like Timbrewood Production Music or one of Don Great's old tape reel only music libraries.

I have some of the Timbrewoods from this era of Loose...when I get a chance i'll dig em out, maybe later today, and have a skim through and see if this cut turns up. Will let you know.

Thank you so much! So are you sure it was composed by Bill Loose? I'm curious to know - how do you know all that? It's awesome!

This has been a mystery to me for a long time, and I'm a little nervous that I'll never hear the compositions in better quality. The music is incredibly beautiful in my opinion.
It would be great to hear the original source one day.

Wow. I'm listening to "Timbrewood Production Music – 129-130 - William Loose – Four Corners" and there are several songs in it that are reminiscent of Blonde Fire's music. Wish I could find more and dig deeper.

I just went through the whole chunk of Bill Loose Timbrewoods I have and no luck. But thought I was gonna get lucky when I started cause a lot sounded similar with for sure the same musicians and arrangement style like you pointed out on the "Four Corners" one.

Like I mentioned before, there's a good chance this tune was made for Blonde Fire or possibly from one of his nature documentary scores. It may not have ever made it to any library since no one can ID it so far.

And anytime you see "May-Loo Music" credited on any adult film or non-adult TV or film from back when, that's Bill Loose compositions. That was his publishing company for strictly his own music. I know all this because 2 pals of mine worked with Loose a few times in the 70's and were friends with him.
